Dead Space 2's Hardcore Achievement Completely BROKE ME!

Horror games scare the life out of me, I don't make good decisions when I'm stressed, and I underestimate almost every challenge I face.
So what better to go for than the Hard to the Core achievement in Dead Space 2?!
Join me on a journey through Dead Space 2's hardcore difficulty, with enemies set to the highest setting, ammo drops set to the bare minimum, and what's more - you're limited to just 3 saves. Any deaths and back you go.
What could go wrong, right?...

I wish there were more videos like this for hardcore dead space runs, I love seeing people stress out and flip when they inevitably die, because I've done the exact same with dead space 2 myself lol. This was a well done video, I'm sad the KZbin gods haven't graced it with views.

Haha, it's certainly one of those challenges that plays with your emotions - dying deep into a run and realising just how far back you've been sent was completely crushing at times. Thanks for the lovely comment, I'm a bit of an editing rookie and there are a number of other youtubers that have made excellent videos on DS2 Hardcore, but I'm glad you enjoyed! :)

I had to challenge myself to play this mode just to get the rewards. I did the chapter 1 glitch and used the Supernova DLC to finish the game. Regardless of what I did, that mode was difficult. I only died 3 times, but the rewards were worth it in the end. I recently did this about a week ago.

Congrats on getting it done! Yeah I knew you could dupe nodes, use DLCs and all sorts but I decided to go in without any of that and with no guide and it was definitely painful! That foam finger is absolutely insane though, a great reward for your troubles!

Line gun,force gun and contact beam helped a lot in hardcore when is upgraded

Definitely! I tested a bit with different guns but mainly just stuck to what was comfortable. If I'd checked some guides first or done a bit more planning, I definitely would've done some things a bit differently!

To save ammo i say shoot one leg off and hit one of its arms and it will save you lots of ammo over time

Nice vid. Should've used force gun, its extremely good especially on controller. Plasma cutter requires more aiming and is far better on pc than on console

Bro, I recently managed to beat Hardcore I used the first save in chapter 5, the second in the middle of chapter 7, and the third in chapter 11 I had help from the sniper from the "Severed" dlc, I didn't die once, it's an honor to beat this game in hardcore

Awesome effort! Yeah I tried to avoid any DLC weapons or guides so I could figure things out myself, panic made me miss the heal button a few times and all sorts. You definitely must've been far more composed than I was, well played!
