Great work. I really enjoy learning about the unique villains of a game. I did hear there was one, technically non-canon, way to kill the Regenerator. There's a body-sized vent fan that if you repulse it into, it'll kill the thing. There's no music, and only a bit of blood, but it won't respawn.

Devon Brockhaus Not sure why you think it's non canon, but you can kill it. I've heard some people say after they shot it into the fan it just disappeared, while literally every run I did it just turned into very small chunks. Which makes sense, you threw it into a fast moving fan with razor sharp blades. I'll be shocked if it didn't almost disappear. I believe if you destory it's center mass you can kill it, or maybe damage enough at once so it can't heal its self. Kinda like a Star fish. I have seen it fall straight through the floor of the fan in some videos thou. I've always gotten chunks spewlled back at me. I need to replay and record it.

Yeah, for whatever reason those fan blades have a hitbox on them, and they cause the Ubermorph to despawn. The Ubermorph doesn't have a death animation, but the fan blades will cause it to spray blood as it despawns, implying that you were probably supposed to kill it that way at some point in development

I always assumed the Ubermorph was something akin to the Pure Form Flood. A thing made entirely from pre-transformed biomass, rather than by transforming another life-form. Something that you only see in the late stages of an infestation. It would make sense that the "Pure Form" Necromorphs would then tend towards a set of physical features; given that they're tailor made, rather than cobbled together. All in all, a good theory. I dig it. The maths checks out.

This species also in a need for greater energy created the first and Original Marker and Markers. Markers work off the principle of channeling energy from a higher dimension not yet understood by us 3 dimensional beings. However what this species as well as the rest that followed in their footsteps didn't or never would think to take into account is that the Marker's that they created would not just serve their purpose of channeling said energy from a higher dimension, but never took into account the possibility of higher dimensional beings existing would would than take notice of energy being sapped from their dimension. After this acknowledgment from higher dimensional beings they than used the Markers as doorways to spread their own influence into out 3rd dimensional universe and corrupting what could have been an infinite sorce of energy. This also helps to explain why the signal makes us 3 dimensional beings go mad and our bodies and minds not being able to survive a transformation into anything that could comprehend said beings and the Markers true nature. It is also said the breatheran moon are just serving an higher purpose, prehaps it takes whole civilizations to be culminated into a planet sized entity just to be able to have any sort of level of the same sentience, sapience or influence it may naturally have in its own dimension, the breatheran moon are just the clean up crew serving a being greater than themselves as they are each just a part of said being. This is also just the tip of the iceberg as well.

The Smoking Skull Isaac is more powerful as human being than the whole necromorph species combined. He’s killed every type of baddie more than once. You destroyed a hive mind in the first game. You decimated a infant hive mind in 2. And you once again go CEC on the hive mind again in 3 killing it in beautiful way. Isaac has the ability to build and destroy markers. The marker gave him that ability. The marker only builds more markers. But Isaac destroys them. The entire species of the necromorph race is risk because they messed. The Ubermorph could be more like the Flood Abomination instead of more like a proto-gravemind. In the Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare DLC, the Flood Abomination acts like a mobile proto-gravemind as it controls any local flood forms and directs them in combat. In comparison, it is possible that the Ubermorph sends out a sort of controlling or directory signal to any local necromorphs and tells them where you are. It is interesting to compare the Flood and the Necromorphs. They do have similarities, as well as differences. It would be terrifying to see a crossover of both the Halo and Dead Space universes, since that would give the potential for the Flood and the Necromorphs to combine into a more grotesque and dangerous threat

I actually never saw the Ubermorph for what it was. Never noticed it slow-walking during the horde swarming of the defences because I was too busy questioning my life choices cause I'd have to...follow that much flesh down a corridor. I also never clocked the similarities in Hive Minds. Considering my love for cosmic horror and how there's always an infant Old One/Great One or whatever, this is an amazing and completely plausible theory that you've sold me on, 100%. So glad that it is more than just Dead Space 2's reskinned Hunter, as I thought it was. You can kill the ubermorph right before the next room it stops chasing you in, there is a large fan blade you can push it in with a force gun or the alt of the charge rifle. But once you kill it you won't get anything special or nothing will happen since your already in the room before the end, also this is just to inform you not to show you up.

Maybe the Ubermorph is an assault type of hive mind. It’s able to move around, execute you, and even gets curious (while executing you). As it stares you down it tilts its head and makes Izaac into a slice of an apple already eaten by a five year old. I also think the extended part of the legs makes it better for movement. More able to run at high speeds like an ostrich and creeping around couldn’t happen. It can barely move it’s knees due to the extended bone and muscle around the calf area. Two humans fused together would also make sense as it has almost an extra layer of ribs. But that’s not all as there are more than two pairs of arms concluding that there is in fact more likely 4-5 people per Ubermorph due to the excessive arms. Maybe the 5 eyes also indicates this? The name Ubermorph also makes it sound like it’s the end product, and that it is the best life form created. Uber Morph.

I believe the ubermorph May be a ‘center’ part of the hive mind as several other slashers in game appear with similar growths on their heads Also the mention of skin, it could be oddly that the ubermorph is made of mostly human skin [which takes days to die] If you ever get a bad sunburn and roll up the skin, it makes a gray ball of similar color to the ubermorph, also then ball doesn’t bounce, I tried to make it bounce for about a hour The ubermorph’s back also appears similar to the open chest if the hivemind in the second stage of the second stage of the fight- a space thrower is surprising effective with the secondary fire as the fire acts on the hivemind while your moving around, and can destroy all the eyes on it in seconds The Uber[driver]necromorph also appears to be more made of skin than the corruption is made of dead skin, hair and other stuff that’s collected in the vents

Glad you got such a good look at this guy because there's no way I would. It's a pretty intimidating sight to see him slowly walking in the sea of necromorphs and the utter mystery behind its origin just makes it all the more interesting since with the Hunter, we slowly learned how it came to be through manmade means as Mercer became obsessed. Guess they wanted the player to experience the fear of the Hunter all over again and Visceral Games sucked for it, especially on Hardcore lol. Also, it's okay to smack the baby hive mind since you do football kick baby lurkers and punch the ever living crap out of the pack. I do like your idea of it being an early Hive Mind from the way its face looked since that is a distinct look. Maybe, once it has accomplished some kind of goal, kind of pulled a caterpillar where it went to sleep in a pile of dead necromorphs to absorb them or something to grow before hatching into the hive mind or some kind of metamorphosis like that. It would be like how the moons absorb the dead flesh to become what they are. That dead flesh is their meal of choice.

Ik most people would say that the Ubermorph died once the marker was destroyed or when the entire facility was in self-destruct but for me personally I’m starting to believe that once Issac Clarke was battling Nicole in his mind. In reality he was actually fighting the Ubermorph while us players only saw from Isaac’s POV but if we weren’t fighting a hallucination of a corrupted Nicole we would’ve been seeing the Ubermorph as the insta-kill boss trying to reach us in it’s grasp so that the marker can take full control over Issac’s mind instead of killing us on it’s own

Actually, you can kill the Ubermorph, you can back it up to a running ventilation fan in one of the corridors right before the final sequence where you reach the marker and the vent fan just shreds it with, quite frankly, an anti-climactic death, cause it doesn't even have a death animation

My old theory was originally that this thing is what a necromorph turns into given enough time, which if true is well, horrifying. However, the thing about the regenerators in dead space is you think the commanding force of an infestation would reverse engineer it and fling nothing but regenerators at you. The head thing could be 50:50, I support the idea its a walking command center and needs to not die. But the reason I figure it’s a later form is because enhanced variants are black and slimy, and this thing is completely black and slick. One other unrelated thing I wanted to say is one of the devs gave a minor spoiler that said something like “in dead space 4, you would see that maybe humanities best chance for survival is the necromorphs” which means the universe might just be entirely fucked by something far scarier

I never thought of the hive mind theory. It makes sense. Maybe it isn't a baby hive mind but smaller? The other hive mind creatures appear off cliffs and such so maybe the sprawl just didn't have enough space for a whole full fledged hive mind so the marker instead opted out for a smaller version to navigate the many small spaces in the sprawl. I could be wrong who knows.

Tbh, I’ve always seen the Uber morph hive mind theory this way, I think it’s more of a portable Hivemind. It somewhat fits in with the rest of the necromorphs despite its regeneration and possible higher command over the lesser necromorphs. That’s just what I think. It’s second to a full blown hive mind.

I think that the original human that became the Ubermorph could have been a pregnant mother. That would explain the very short limbs, it's regenerative abilities (growing another human) and it's extremely aggression (motherly hormones and such), which would also explain its leadership; that the rest of the necromorphs are it's adoptive children, further 'evidenced' by its later stage as a hive mind.

I'm pretty sure the Hive Mind theory is true and I have the argument to back that up. On the Dead Space wiki it is said that the Hive Mind was unwittingly created as a result of military experimentation on the red marker so I'm guessing the red marker created it unbeknownst to the Humans because it needs a commander for the necromorphs on Aegis 7 and it grew massively as time went on. Now the marker on Titan station was made in the span of 3 years and also needed a Hive Mind and thus why the Ubermorph was created.

Well, what if you're right about both things? The idea that the Ubermorph is mutliple bodies jusifies it's ability to reformat it's unused material into new limbs once they are removed, and convergence even provides enough biomass to grow it into a full blown hive mind. The Convergence event just serves as the means to make one.

(pls read) ( yes, i know its a lot of text) first of all i would like to tell you how much i love your videos and also that when i get a regular source of money ill insstantly start donating to you. i dont know if just patrons can give ytou games to do videos about but just to try, i would love you to make vidos abaout a game called RAIN WORLD (short explaination about rainworld: its basically a gorgeous pixel art game that i think its very underrated) and now, the part that i think might interest you: in rain world teh creatures are not as complex as maybe the necromorphs in terms of not that much detail cuz of the graphics but an interesting feature of that game is that nothing is scripted and that means that interactions between creatures are very natural and organic, also you can do almost everything to every creaturee (you can tame, kill , incapacitate, etc) almost everything that moves and knowing your videos i think you might enjoy looking for secrets in the behaviors of the wildlife in rain world. thanks for reading!! There's always the possibility that the Ubermorph is an extension of the Hive Mind rather than a young version, going places where it can't go and carrying out its orders in person, especially if it needs to coordinate precise actions (like that attack on the base at the end) that a humongo tentacle couldn't pull off.

A really good idea for ammo conservation is to have the ripper and stasis the necros if they're too numerous. Max out the ripper upgrades and carve them up like turkeys

Also the game at normal diff setting will take into account what weapons you're using and having the ripper, line gun, and contact beam weapons are the best bet to carry as the ammo drops will randomize between all the weapons you have and the line gun and contact beam weapon ammo stacks will add up credits like no tomorrow.

Hey you can actually kill the ubermorph. At the end before you cross the bridge if you use a something with knock back you can nock it into the fan blades and mulch it unceramoniously.
