Fun fact in this game isaac is just stock sound effects
@paris-1911 Жыл бұрын
funner fact, that's only half true! isaac's bigger yells are made from stock screams, but the smaller exertions and sounds are atleast confirmed to've been done by Dave Feise (who I asked personally) and _potentially_ Don Veca. Feise was one of the main sound engineers while Veca was the main audio director -- in a story he shared about how they made Isaac's vocals for this game, he said Veca had Feise or some other employee do laps around the office to get the right audio they needed to make Isaac's exertions.

@paris-1911 Sounds pretty consistent with Gunner Wright, couldn't tell the difference. Either way, only use of stock sound I remember was in the final boss death animation where it grabs Isaac.

About bloody time someone posts this, huh. Are you the guy I found on a discussion about SFX extraction for this game, who wanted to prove Gunner did not voice Isaac in this game? (I'm Jean Antoine on Steam btw) Man, I can't state enough how much I liked the way Isaac screams when melee-ing. Like, when he goes "HOOO!" (0:30) when finishing off some limping Necro, so damn satisfying. Can relate so much to that level of anger.

@@paris-1911 Yeah? Well... thanks a lot mate. Brings a smile to my face knowing I meant aid. Never could I have expected someone else interested in these particular audio files. Everyone else was after ambience, voice lines, Weapon SFX, miscellaneous, etc, and they weren't many too, which only made it harder. Dead Space 2 being the game where Isaac starts to speak, have more of a personality also made everyone recognize that iteration of him way more, thus, more people were interested in posting a video with his audio files.

Man, how did you manage to export those files? I wanted to find some image files from DS3 so I could have them in a somewhat better quality than screenshotting them but I have no clue how to mess around with that. That's a cool achievement though those things don't seem easy to get and you're helping get stuff preserved if the game one day just pops out of existence for any reason.
@paris-19117 ай бұрын
Being so honest, I forgot. As soon as I figured it out I pretty much blanked the whole thing out of my brain when all the files were exported -- it was, however, _very_ tedious and repetitive! Lot of the DS1 files are... organized in a strange way, to say the least. Had to install like, two different programs to translate the game's audio files into listenable .wav files, and the process of actually _finding_ Isaac's grunts was a real pain cause, as you might've guessed, it was buried in a mountain of folders that were labeled in numbers... not descriptors. *inhale* All in all, 10/10 would recommend. I ended up figuring it out because of a steam conversation I had, you could probably find it with a little bit of googling, a cool guy linked me a video that showed how to unpack DS2 and 3's files, though I just ended up needing the first half for the first game. Wow this is a pedantic answer. If you _really_ wanna know how to do it, I can dig up the method and let you know. Oh and nice Nimona pfp!
@zegrin7 ай бұрын
@@paris-1911 Thank you! ^^ it's by someone on tumblr, I probably should have saved their name in the file, but it's one of the top results if you look for Nimona fanart! Having folders organized by numbers kind of seem like a pain in the ass even for the people who developed the game ngl. I'll see if I can google the video! And it would be cool if you could dig it up but I really don't wanna be a bother with that, so no worries about it. Did you talk in a discussion post on ds1 community tab?

@@paris-1911can you also do DS3 and DS Remake? Because DS3 includes the DS2 files plus some new recorded ones and DS Remake is very interesting too.
@paris-1911Ай бұрын
@@monique6490 I think you can find those DS3/2 sounds on youtube already with enough digging, and you can definitely find the remake as well. I was really only interested in DS1 cause nobody seemed to know anything about it.
@monique6490Ай бұрын
@paris-1911 It took me even hard work to find your video even though you're the only one who did this. DS2 is available on YT but not DS3. DS Remake also has no video where his sounds and efforts are shown/presented. But of course I can't demand someone else to do that much hard work. If I'd be able to do it myself, believe me I would.
