I loved that routine. As Tommy Hoover says "Trade altitude for airspeed". Indeed!. Years ago there was a clipped wing Cub that did airshows here in Minnesota. He flew sideways. He flew knife edge. I haven't seen that plane for quite a while. I recall the plane reg as N432X. That currently does not show as a Piper Cub. I miss that plane and the skill that pilot showed.

Wow great flying a I’d have to say a perfect demonstration of how safe a aircraft is even with out a running engine pulling aerobatics

Had the pleasure of an exciting flight in this aircraft with pilot Nick Mardis in Wichita, KS before Harold's friends delivered the Chipmunk and Great Lakes to the museum in Ashland, KS.Very sentimental to me as i did the first paint job working in Oklahoma City and repainted the damaged Chipmunk in Little Rock, AR; before and after the Lycoming 235 3-blade engine (Twin Bonanza) conversion. Also was on the repaint crew for the Krier Kraft in Oklahoma City, when Charlie Hilliard bought it from Harold. Great man, Great pilot!

"Tower I would like to declare an emergency, also I'll need 5 minutes to perform an aerobatic routine."

Todd's dad Mel gave me a few flights in this beautiful airplane. Thankfully no dead sticks on our flights

Flies to China and back on the dead stick. That's some great flying and a wonderful airplane.
