First video I started tearing up when I saw her repeat "my baby my baby my baby" over and over around 11:50 and then the kid comes over and she gives him a big hug. My heart breaks for them both and I hope the kid doesn't grow up hating the police. The mom seems down to earth, caught in a bad situation... as for the driver... running with a kid in the car? C'mon... wtf dude... lock him up.

Part of being a caring mother is not making appalling choices in who your companions are, but what are the odds in her not continuing with this spineless example of a man who ran away after endangering her life and that of her son ? I despair at some of these women with no self respect.

We can't know, but I think we can reasonably assume a less than good role model in her father, very likely something similar with her mother, but just as importantly an education that has failed her, and condemned her to a future without opportunity that has made her vulnerable to men like her runaway companion. Very sad to see, and she's not alone is she ?

I hope and pray that this mother learned a lesson on this night about what she's been willing to settle for in a man. She'll have to work doubletime now to deprogram the absolute fear and terror that child now has in police officers. That fear could very well one day cause him to lose his life. This whole chaotic, tragic scene just breaks my heart for this child.

I feel so bad for the Mom and her son. Yes, she's an adult, but I doubt that she could have stopped the driver from doing what he did. You can see how upset and worried she was about her son, and the boy was so traumatized by it. Thank God neither of them was badly injured.

I'm surprised the officers didn't check the woods next to salvage yard where the guy ran too. He ran there for a reason. Maybe drugs, another weapon. He didn't just run there then come back for no reason

They will, and likely did. We just didn’t get the full dashcam video. Just about every video I’ve seen of stuff like this, they’ll retrace their every step just to see what or if anything was ditched. Troopers saw him come out over there, they’re not going to ignore that. If he was going to run, he would’ve ran and stayed on gone, but him coming back made it obvious.

You're right, the trooper got a little squirrelly a couple of times. He was actually being outdriven for a while there. You could tell he was shaken a bit at the end. Tough pursuit.
