As a retired Police Officer, I have much love and respect for Law Enforcement Officers everywhere. There is one thing for certain, K-9s are the epitome of dedication, loyalty, honor, and bravery. Now, please, y'all don't hand me any junk about the K-9s being thoughtlessly trained to put themselves at risk. Our men and women in the Military, as well as Law Enforcement, Fire Departments, and other "first responders," do the same. Their training is NOT thoughtless. Most dogs, regardless of the breed or size, put themselves at risk defending their families. The thought of someone's pet dog, or cat, being killed (for any reason) sickens me. I can assure y'all of one thing, a K-9's partner has unconditional love for the K-9. They will give their lives for their incredible partner. This is just my opinion. I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

I had a lab/rotty mix and every time I’d put her backpack on her with her hiking supplies she’d go from being her usually goofy self to proud, serious, and dignified. She just loved having a “job”. I've never seen a PIT maneuver literally next to and among simi-trucks. It surprised me. All ended well but, after the lady was pitted next to the semi, the policeman had to swerve into the left lane ahead of the simi. That's the crazy thing about people who are either crazy or on drugs. They sometimes don't feel pain, don't feel fear, and can be insanely strong because they override all the body's natural safeties to keep from damaging yourself. Saw a vid once where a guy who was wasted on PCP had two people on each arm and two on each leg, on his back on the ground, and tossed them off like they were ragdolls.

It seems all this phenomena of running from the police and these wild car chases is a more recent thing. I lived in North East Texas growing up pretty close to the Arkansas border. My Dad was from Prescott Arkansas and my brother went to boys camp in the summer near Hot Springs. We also vacationed frequently in Hot Springs. So we went to Arkansas quite a bit back then. In all of the times we drove there and back, I NEVER saw anything on the roads or highways like these out of control police chases. Maybe all these "Gone in 60 Seconds" movies, and others of that genera have emboldened people to run from the police. Sure doesn't end well for a lot of them. Much different on a movie set!

Considering the range he was at to her when he used it again, it was in the same setting. He couldn't get proper barb separation at that range to be effective, but arcing it to scare compliancy, and then full on dry taser deployment to get compliance would be a good tool to use due to it's short lasting affect. Just bc you're handcuffed doesn't mean you're complying and they can't use pain compliance to get you to comply. As for the length of time it was actively arcing, you don't know if it was on her the whole time. Most of these have a built in timer on how long it arc's with each trigger pull. So what you're hearing is not an accurate representation of how many times she took the stun. She was actively physically resisting their efforts to get her into the vehicle (ie resisting arrest), therefore certain pain compliance measures can be used even if she's handcuffed, IF required. Kicking a dude in the head while he's on the ground and handcuffed, while technically not resisting, just because he talks shit about your mom is a totally different thing. Or a dumbass talking all kinds of shit about you and your girl while he is in handcuffs and making threats to you, while not technically physically resisting in any way, just because he spits at you doesn't mean you can throw a punch and knock the motherfucker out cold while he's in a defenseless state. Even tho i think the dude had it coming in that video and am not mad about it at all. Your rights are protected from unreasonable force being used.... UNREASONABLE... NOT NO force being used. Dry stunning in this scenario is the best thing you have to use. Physical pain compliance involves violent attacks and submission holds that can leave lasting injuries associated with it that cause pain that lasts much longer than a taser, including severe injury that can cause problems in the future. Pepper spray would have been a bad choice also, just bc she was already cuffed and it would have caused pain lasting well longer than you needed it to, and it would impact the officers as well, hindering their ability to get her into the car, not help. Using a dry stun is BY FAR the best kind of pain compliance you could use in this situation. No rights being violated here.....

​@@ES-mc3ccIf this were a rational person they were trying to retain, sure. But at this point she was CRAZED and they hadn't even been able to properly search her for weapons. Drugs (and/or mental illness) can also make a person extra dangerous because they are irrational and don't process orders (get out of the car, keep your hands up, hold still) or pain normally. She was using her entire body/limbs to fight them off. She could have hurt herself stepping into a hole and breaking an ankle or running into traffic or any of 100 other ways because she was not in her right mind. And when in the history of ever has someone screaming "let me go, let me go" ever caused the police to stop and let them go? NEVER. They can't. It's their JOB to make sure once they have encountered an unstable person not to let them get away so they can't hurt themselves or others. So... I think they did it exactly right under these circumstances. I hope that woman got the help she needs. Mental healthcare in our country needs a major overhaul.

@killing kops yeah after refusing to pull over for at least five miles, she was successfully pitted and then stopped at gunpoint by the deputies following. After being patient with her for several minutes with her continuing to scream nonsense, and the officers not knowing if she was armed or what was going on, let the dog go in first. That got her attention though not enough to stop her from continuing to fight as she was taken to the ground. Even though she has at least four officers on her she continued to resist and thrash her body around. It's at Point the highway patrolman taste her to try to get her to comply. After a very brief case they were able to get the handcuffs on her where she continued to resist. In fact she resisted to the point that two rather large deputies picked her up and carried her to the back of the patrol car. Where I'm sure she's going to enjoy her ride to the hospital to be checked out and then probably spend a week or two locked up and then released back out on the streets without any psychiatric help. Because God forbid we step on anybody's rights and protect the public, just let the crazies roam around until I hurt somebody or break law again

ALL Officers both human and K9 are exceptional, but it seems like Troopers have that little touch of something extra, can't explain it. Their PIT moves are amazing and on a wet road, wow great driving 👍. So when did God speak to her when she finally realized she was caught, that's when they all find Jesus.
