I feel like when a pokemon was supposed to have "a magic vibe" to it, they would just slap psychic type to it, but then they came up with the fairy type wich fits magic more and now use it in the same way.

For me, both types can work for magic, if used in different areas. Psychic deals with the arcane, mind control and levitation, while Fairy is related to spirituality, healing and nature. Another way to see it in an RPG setting would be to relate Psychic to black mages or wizards, and Fairy to white mages or clerics.

I've always think that there should be a Pro/Con to having X Type as either primary or secondary instead of the order having zero effect. I've also always think that double weaknesses are stupidly unfair, specially when a weakness already deals doble damage. (add that to the fact it will most likely be a STAB, so a ×4 becomes a ×6) So maybe change it to something like: Primary Type gives: ×1.5 STAB, ×2 from Weaknesses but you keep inmunities Secondary Type gives: ×1.25 STAB, ×1.5 from Weaknesses but any inmunity becomes a resistance (like holding a Target Ring) That way the Primary holds more weight both offensively and defensively over the second, while the Secondary functions as a complement to add slight resistances and power to moves. A double weakness would be a ×3 (×4.5, if the move came from a Primary STAB, ×3.75 if Secondary). Or maybe Secondary STAB should be ×1.2 or ×1.3, idk. But at least it would add some thing to separate mons that get outclassed by others just cuz they have the same Type combo

Gen IX has now joined Gens I, V, and VI to introduce a new Type combo, and have both permutations represented, having both Pawmo and Iron Hands. Gen I introduced Rhyhorn and Geodude, Gen V introduced Victini and Darmanitan (Zen mode), and for Gen VI you may think it's a Fairy combo, but in Gen 6 only Togetic and Togekiss were dual typed with Fairy as their primary type, so their's is Inkay and Hoopa (Unbound).

I gotta say, it took me an embarrassingly long time to realise why certain dual type mons are not qualifying for their respective dual typing... and I don't even know if I am right yet because I haven't seen the explanation yet. I find it fascinating that, over a thousand mons later, we still have type combos that have not been represented yet, some that we still only have one member/family of (Ghosts seem to be getting shafted more than the others), and that it took till gen 8 to get all types a Legendary representative, except whoops, actually no because Bug still only has a Mythical!

I don’t think megas should be treated as no longer existing but rather as cut pokemon similar to stuff like snivy, furfrou, minior, and other things that haven’t been in any switch games. Just because they’re not programmed into any of the latest games it doesn’t mean they no longer exist. And I don’t think their absence will be permanent, because if we ever get Kalos remakes in the far future then they’re bound to return

Rotom's forms' types weren't changed in Platinum Heart Gold and Soul Silver because it'd throw up errors when battling with Diamond and Pearl players with it if they did change it. Imagine if your opponent sent out a Rotom and on your game you know it's weak to Shadow Ball, so you use that and it deals double damage and K.Os it. But on their game, it's Wash Rotom and because it's Electric/Water, it doesn't take the Double Damage from Shadow Ball aand survives. See the problem? Gen 5 not being able to battle Diamond and Pearl fixed the whole problem so they could finally fix the issue. 🙂

Actually, the first true new Psychic/Fairy combo would, for gens 6-7, be Gradevoir. It may have been added in gen 3, but you know what was added in gen 6 (post fairy being made, thus technically counting as a man made with fairy in mind) but has a pokedex number ftom back in gen 3? MEGA Gardevoir. So it is the first designed psychic/fairy, albeit no longer available as of gen 8 onwards due to the removal of megas.

In Generation VI, we were introduced to two moves which can add further types to existing Pokemon; - Trick-or-Treat (adds Ghost-type) - Forest's Curse (adds Grass-type) If this is used with all pokemon, we could end up with Bulbasaur (Grass/Poison/Ghost), Charmander (Fire/Grass/Ghost or Fire/Ghost/Grass, depending on the combo), Charizard (Fire/Flying/Grass/Ghost or Fire/Flying/Ghost/Grass), etc.

Rock/Ghost and Poison/Ice are the two I'm most surprised we haven't seen. Rock/Ghost because it would be super easy, just do some kind of haunted statue. Poison/Ice because it's one of those type combinations that seems like it'd be good, but it would actually be pretty bad competitively.
