Deadheading and cleaning up Coral, Apricot, and Peach Drift Roses after their first flush of flowers, as well as very heavy rains causing several to sag and lean on surrounding plants.
A second video is coming soon of deadheading other types of roses, including Rose Trees.

Kudos to you for doing this with no gloves 😳 My coral drift roses bite pretty hard 🤪

They can be brutal - especially if you have to try and reach under them for something!

Oh heck no, I'm deadheading all of my roses regardless of them being "self cleaning" because they don't look clean at all if you don't!

Agreed! Same here!

I agree. It also makes more blooms quicker

@@dorissullivan3827 I think so too. I believe less energy is going to support the old blooms and to make rose hips slows down reblooming.

Is it necessary to use pruning sealer on cut branches when deadheading pink drift roses? If not, will remaining stems be open to disease?

I’ve never used pruning sealer on any of my roses. My drift and knockouts are pruned/deadheaded after each flush and I’ve had zero issues with any diseases.

Hi Chad, I love your beautiful 🪴garden! I have question where did you get your peach knock out rose tree? if you let me know I will appreciate it!

Thank you! I got the Peach Drift Tree (it's not a Knockout) at either the local Lowes or Home Depot - I just picked up two more Peach Drift Trees at the local Home Depot here in the Augusta, GA area. I also got the Knockout Trees (Pink & Sunny) at one of the two box stores. I did notice that this year it was either Peach Drift Trees, Petite Knockout Trees, or Red Knockout Trees - those three seem to be what came in in this area this year so far. I haven't seen any others yet.

mine have something, maybe aphids that have eaten lacy like holes in the leaves. Any suggestions?

I don’t do anything if it’s not too bad but you can spray them with some neem oil (just make sure to follow the instructions) - I just hate to use anything that will kill bees and the good pollinators. Drift roses are pretty resilient if they are just being lightly snacked on.

Can I trim my knockout roses in zone 8....received them in august....still in pots

If you mean deadhead them or clean them up some then that should be perfectly fine. I wouldn’t trim them back hard though.

Will you propagate any of your clippings?

I don’t have any experience with propagating anything. May have to try that.
