It's not just a garden. It's art. Absolutely stunning. All of it.
@RosannesGarden10 ай бұрын
hello! I must apologize for not responding earlier. I saw your comment and wanted to respond appropriately. I love what you say about gardens as art. I wholeheartedly agree. I think of all art as "food for the soul". I sense a growing movement away from such appreciation in gardens. It seems now gardens must be about food, native plants, bees, etc. Those are all wonderful outcomes, but my goal in gardening has always been about providing food and habitat for wildlife AND to provide beauty...things that make people smile and feel something. Although I try to incorporate native plants, I am not beholding to the concept. What about the beauty of Calla lilies, or Roses? One of the reasons I left our local master gardener program was that it promoted everything about gardening, except creating gardens as art, or food for the soul. I felt like an island. So....your comment struck me in a certain way, and I really appreciated it. Thank you!

Love the turtle stone in the pathway, that is so whimsical. The colors you have used there are stunning. Especially the white flowering plants, they truly shine and "pop". This is a work of art, and I appreciate you sharing it's evolution and progress. It's just stunning, and the little bunny 🐇 running on the path was epic fairytale! I would absolutely be spending my time outside there, more than inside! more. Thanks for sharing this wonderful exploration of garden design and beauty.

That is so very nice of you to say and think and do! I'm so glad to hear you are enjoying our gardens and this channel 🌞. The tall and narrow conifer is a weeping white spruce (Picea glauca 'Pendula'). I love the look too. I briefly mentioned in the video that we had a Spruce that died, and we replaced it with an Arborvitae. That was the same variety spruce. I think it was getting too much shade. They need full sun, no doubt about it. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🌺

This may be different outside of the US, but it’s worth a try if the KZbin icons on the lower right of the screen work the same globally. Hopefully they do, and this technique will be successful for you. I’d be curious if it works. Instructions: On lower right of KZbin video screen, click on the white box “CC” icon. Immediately, you should see subtitles. If the subtitles aren’t in your language, you should be able to change the language. To do so, click on the settings (gear box) icon, then click on “Subtitles/CC”. Click on “Autotranslate”. Scroll to pick your language. Hello Corey and thank you! Although I have not broadcast it, I have mentioned in several comments that my husband and I have moved to a new house and a new, almost non-existent garden. The move was the right time for a number of reasons. It was incredibly sad to leave the old garden, but as the saying goes, "when one door shuts, another one opens". I'm thinking of ways to chronicle the creation of our new garden. Stay tuned and thanks for hanging in there!

I look forward to watching your beautiful garden videos. Your garden reminds me of a soft and pretty English country garden. I was born in England and I visited it again years ago. I have the same postcard as you! as well as photos of the gorgeous cottages in your postcard. I adore English thatched-roof-cottage, gardens. Rosanne, you live in a beautiful part of the world. I love the seasonal garden that you have with snow; so pretty. I now live on the Sunshine Coast of Qld., Australia. I can grow many of the cool weather plants that my northern hemisphere neighbours have, however they mostly grow here in the cooler months. I am trying to create an Australian version of a pretty English garden. You and your husband have done a wonderful job creating your stunning and inspirational garden.

Greetings to Australia! Thank you so much Julia. I'm so glad you are enjoying our garden! But, seriously, the same postcard? How great is that? I guess those cottages are quite famous, and rightly so. Our winters are very cold, but also quite beautiful. Creating gardens is a process and I wish you all the best with your Australian adaptation!

It’s truly exciting to see urban yard-sized landscaping videos. I feel like a tend to see a lot of “small sized gardening makeovers” that are not at all what I would think of as “small.” I’m currently in the process of making over my south facing narrow side yard that looks just like yours (currently mine is much more like the before than after). I want an enveloping, secret garden feel without encroaching on the neighbors too much, so I appreciate this video.

Greetings Minnesota neighbor! I'm so glad the video on our narrow garden was helpful in imaging what to do with your own! Side yards are often neglected, but for small gardens, are a wonderful opportunity. I hope you have fun creating yours 🌲🌺🌹🐢🐦

One of the most instructive and inspiring garden videos, ever. Thank you, Roseann. I am no longer fearful of planting arborvitae. When the right variety is chosen, it will add grand structure, shelter and year round interest.
@RosannesGarden Жыл бұрын
Thank you! You are very generous with your compliments 🌺🌼🌿. I’m so very glad you found the video helpful and also, that you will be giving arborvitae a try. I find, in our climate, there are two important things to remember with Arborvitae - one being, to make sure they get plenty of water going into winter. The other, if you have rabbits, is to put chicken wire or something to protect the trees from hungry bunnies in the winter. I wish you all the best in your gardening endeavors. 🌞🌺🌲🐰🌿

@@RosannesGarden Yes there has been a couple of days that hinted at "autumn" coming but it has recently been quite hot at 34C. Those particular days at the start of the turn are what I call magic days and are rare = 26C to 30C around 50% RH or less with 15 to 20 kph breeze. It is a beautiful world Roseanne and what you do decorates it so perfectfully.

Greetings to Russia! You are quite welcome! I'm glad you could visit! My husband and I do share a passion for gardening, so I am very lucky there. Parts of Russia have a growing zone very similar to ours, so similar plants make sense. What a small world.
