I comment on Sig's book "North by Northwestern" Sig writes about the historical influence of Norwegians in regards to exploration, The Bering sea, crab fishing. Sig also talks a bit about The Northwest Passage but forgets to mention the greatest Norwegian explorer and one of mankind's greatest explorers, Roald Amundsen. Amundsen was the first person to successfully navigate a Northwest passage. Roald Amundsen (1872-1928) of Norway was the first person to successfully navigate the fabled Northwest Passage. His journey took three years to complete - he and his crew had to wait while the frozen sea around them thawed enough to allow for navigation. Since Amundsen was also a Norwegian why no mention by Sig? Still a book I enjoyed, much better than Jake's "Relapse"
