It really is a great machine! We use this for squats, lunges and rows as well. We are glad that this machine worked out for you during your recovery.

The curve of the ROM definitely is a bit weird. I can see how some people might love it, but tbh I wouldn't expect a lot of carryover to deadlifting. It does hit the lats & the glutes really well but you could do lat & glute exercises. At the gym I used it at, most of the time plates are used to reduce the ROM and that makes sense as the bottom is where the curved ROM would be most noticeable.

I agree with all your points, I think this a great alternative how you said to hit the glute and lats at the same time. Its a safer option for beginners and it s great compound movement to improve overall strength. Thanks for insight, this will be very helpful to anyone reading your comment.

@@doublegswellness7341 The other thing I would say is that squatty-deadlifts are probably not the best hypertrophy tool beyond early-intermediate. This is actually pretty close to a hack deadlift.

@@alanfarquharhill That is true, it can be very similar to a barbell hack squat when performing traditional deadlift versus an RDL on this piece of equipment.

If I can lift 340ibs in this machine. Does that mean I could deadlift 340?

It could be possible if your technique is on point. The biggest difference on here his that your lats are more easily engaged and you don't have to worry about your shoulders rolling in and flexing your spine too much. With a regular bar it would be harder because your hands are in front of you and you really needed to be mindful about your lats being pulled back as you push through your heels. If you can lift 340 on here at least 3-5 times, then we think you could definitely lift it 1-3 times with the bar. Keeps us updated!
