It took me a while… but I finally figured out what “pushing instead of pulling” means: It’s thinking mentally of pushing the ground vs. pulling the bar, and that’s comes free with a proper posture and bracing. I love that channel! great tips

My Deadlift has been stalled for a while now I'm going to try these tips... thanks man💪💪👍

Dude, number 3! I started doing this a few months back and noticed the immediate advantage of the stretch reflex and already being in position. And like you said, the reps after the first pull feel so much easier. Number 1 is one that I need to work on more.

Bracing has made a big difference in the strength and stability of my lower back. Never would have thought flexing my stomach would have helped my back not round, until finding this channel. Good stuff.

Sometimes I push the bar down with my stomach when I am in the bottom position of the deadlift. Then I just maintain the tension and pull it up. Probably a million different ways to do these things.

500 is coming soon, i been chasing it the last year and a half, hit 500 on hex bar last week. Then onto the next goal, my genetics for deadlift not good and I appreciate all the tips!

Building up the movements you struggled with is a way more rewarding endeavor than simply playing into your strengths. Good luck!

What do you mean you have been "chasing it"??? Are you making consistent progress??? If not it is your programming. Sorry I do not want to sound like an asshole but I just overcame something like a 5 year sticking point. Now my gains are coming too fast. lol It was bad programming and I cannot imagine it would be any different for anyone else. Let me know if I can help.......What would a hex bar max be compared to the straight bar??? 50 LB difference????

Viking Strongman What made a difference in your programming? Way more volume? Certain accessory movements? Tempo work? Conjugate? Block periodization? Etc. I’m just curious.

@@HolidayFortnight I was doing westside/congugate, what a complete waste of time that was. I think kids see shiny chains and subconsciously think of the hell's angels, then think "Wow if I use chains I will be super bad ass mofo too". But seriously I cannot talk about that or I will bitch about how retarded westside is for 8 hours straight. I went back to a type of concurrent periodization using the good old fashion squat, bench, and deadlift. 80% then add 5 pounds every 9 days. One supplementary for a weak point. Nothing fancy nothing shiny just old school concurrent periodization. My first 45 days away from shitside (I mean westside) I put 30 pounds on my bench and almost 50 pounds on my squat. Still progressing the same but now I have to take 9 days or possibly 18 days off from benching and switch to dumbbells. I have to let my elbow joint catch up with my new pressing strength before I wreck it since my right elbow has "started talking to me". Anyhow I was dumb enough to think I was actually doing a program before. Boy was I stupid! Live and learn.

Viking Strongman , im not sure of the difference, last month i pulled 465 on a power bar... rpe of 10. What has helped me most is getting my shins more vertical and bracing with tight abs and a neutral back instead of arching. I feel my position way better now.

You rock! So Simple. My form is always getting a little better. I just rocked out 5 sets of 10 with tip 1 (volume day) and what a difference.... tip 1 along with "mind-muscle connection" is very good!

I had my conventional lift stall at 475, and even that did not feel good, I felt my brace evaporate half way and a lot of strain on the back, I think it was due to not enough push and mostly back, but then I tried Summo, which I never done before, and in a matter of a few seessions, I could pull 475 and it felt easy, or at least much better than the conventional pull. I suppose my leverages are better suited for Summo, but after the last session where I warmed up alternating between Summo & Conventional pulls, after pulling 455 for reps Summo, I tried to pull Conventional, and it felt great. I am trying to recreate that in my future workouts, I seem to recall that I squeezed my glutes really tight, which I have not done before at all or to any great extent, and the weight just flew up - it was Epic.

Number 1 can be shoved by warming up on legs press before deadlift I believe

I absolutely love this channel, and everything you drop Bromley is absolute gold. I really appreciate you "muting" the mic when you dropped that deadlift as well. I'm a lanky dude with long everything (except where you want it), so Deadlifts have always been a nightmare just to get into position. However your setup and rocking back into a better leverage really clicked with me - will be trying that this evening with some light tech work. Thanks mate!

Awesome stuff. I feel that accomplished lifters that don't have very good dl leverages are way better in teaching dl than those that lockout just above the knee.

Great deadlift tips again, man... we all are looking for tips and advice from the best deadlifters out there but I think that's might not always be good idea because they have their good leverages, their genetics which could not match our case, so I think we should think in the opposite direction: should take a look at the people who were struggling mostly, with the worst leverages which mange to overcome them and which are forced to focus much more on efficiency, fatigue management. I think even if you are with better leverages and genetics then them, you can also take much of their tips.

That is weird, but I never felt good dropping the bar, when I tried it once or twice, my back actually hurt and it felt much safer to reverse the move and lower the bar under control.

Haha. Grand unified theory of the deadlift! D theory? Or Hamstring theory
