Tried some of these cues today. The arms and shoulders protracted seems to work better but i need more practice with it. I got humbled today with my new home gym set up the 45lb plates i bought are custom made and only 7/8 inch thick in conjunction with a stiff bar my max weight was glued to the floor
@BrendanTietz
@BrendanTietz 3 жыл бұрын
Oh dude totally normal lol the first time we transitioned off of comp plates we were training with weights that were sub rpe 6 for working top sets lol! Keep practicing the cues. It’ll help a lot,

Great series! Your squat cue to have a wider grip is tough for me - my shoulders would love it but when I try to get wider I lose lat tightness. I’ve watched all your slack pull vids and will keep working at it! Still definitely a weakness for me. Thanks!

What gives me a hard time doing reps during my top set is the bar sometimes hits the area just above the knee as I lower the bar, which puts me off position cause I'm worried I'll hit my knee. As a result, I tend to RDL or round my back when I lower the bar.

Youre the first person I've seen reference this, a legit fear of mine that I feel leads to me controlling the eccentric even on 1rms more than might be considered safe. The idea of smashing your kneecaps with any working weight is nightmare stuff haha

Signed up for a uspa meet, planning on taking the Georgia squat and deadlift record at 165 (have the squat record for sure, already doing triples with it) but the uspa uses a deadlift bar and I have no acccess to one, if I’m pulling just over 600 on a general purpose bar and a 3 inch block pull let’s me pull 635, about how much you think I’ll get out of the deadlift bar? (Guesstimate, I know it’s very nuanced and shit) good info as always btw

Good luck, getting ready for my state meet in 3 weeks. Always hard to judge, but I’ve had the same experience. Leave room for #2&3, you should add 35-50lbs pretty easily due to the bar I’d guess.
