Something you may have missed, or maybe you intentionally left it out because it's basic, but at 8:56 to get into the building beside the walker, Wraith does a DASH-DOWN to get down into the door. Double tapping crouch while in the air will shoot your character straight down which is good for avoiding bullets so you're not falling in a slow, predictable arc downward, and as we saw in the video can avoid ceilings etc. Great video Schizug! You said at the beginning you're skipping basic movement and getting straight into advanced movement tech which got me excited, and then you delivered 👍

Exactly the video I needed. It's been bugging me how I can't maintain speed off a zip line. I was pressing jump instead of crouch. I think it makes sense that jumping doesn't carry momentum as getting that extra jump would allow for crazy distances off a zip line. Thanks so much! Edit: Finished the video. Holy moly, you can dash, double jump and wall jump with that momentum! I will probably never be as good as those in the clips but it's so refreshing to see hardcore movement in a popular multiplayer game. Coming from playing Quake this makes me happy.

I mean, air strafing exist in most games, but the "strafe bug" exist in deadlock, however this game has air friction so it's very very weak. Specifically, the strafe bug is caused by the game enforcing a speed cap by only checking the speed you are going in the direction of acceleration

i really, really wish you emphasized retention of momentum more. i thought you were gonna mention it when talking about the slides at the beginning, since you cant jump out of a slide when doing it from a dash on the ground, but you can jump from the slide from any other movement option (one of which you demonstrated with the dash jump side), including air dashing and sliding on slopes. you specifically mention escaping/chasing down someone, so i dont see why you would not want to jump from the slide, since you can keep momentum by just jumping from your slide before friction begins slowing you down. it took until 8:20 when youre showing the clip of wraith bhopping after jumping from the fan

Something I would of pointed out that is movement specific that I see noobs make mistake wise. is when being chased back to ur base. when people have no stamina and are in the left and right pit entrance to the main base shop. People just spam jump or wait for stamina. a Simple wall jump without even adding a heavy punch can get you up back into base. (people also never use either of the doors in the main base to retreat/fight from because I honestly think the Low elo/New people just dont know about them)
