I really love the approach to analyzing your own replays rather than using live commentary, not enough people do this
@Keegan_Cameron-Myre2 ай бұрын
@dustymetso even just for improving your own game not enough people can drop the ego to look at the replays at where they failed and where the enemy bested them, they would rather play 10 hours of losses than take the 40 minutes to review footage and improve

idk i think the towers need more HP, the minions way less damge to them (early at least) , and maybe abilities should only do like 40% damage. Dota's stronger towers let you play around wave control a lot better, you try and burn a wave into your tower and lose 1/4 the tower while also being pressured heavy in deadlock, its fine if they want a faster paced game, but the other team can also burst your towers while behind faster than you can hope to react to it. i think the mid game for this game is way to fast, most of my games devolve into both teams have no towers left

@@HerbaceousM8I agree on most points but the towers are pretty close in strength imo Overall at least, Deadlock are easier to burst but they do more damage
@i.r.weasel7042Ай бұрын
@HerbaceousM8 I find it interesting that many of my DL games, my team will take an early guardian and walker lead, then in a messy mid game someone on the enemy team will sneak around and finally catch up by soloing buildings faster than anyone can react (to your point)... In the early game the buildings live longer because player damage is quite low, respawns are fast and people usually zipline or jungle path their way to defense... but by mid game you can take down a tower or walker with a couple magazines... there's no time to react. It seems to me that the best thing to do is ignore most objectives and try to defend or attack key objectives as a team. 🤷♂️

When I first got into Deadlock it would annoy me on how often a game snowballed from early on momentum. The last week or so, I've gotten into some CRAZY clutch games where we turn around a 20k soul deficit to 20k past the enemy team purely on good midgame strategy. There are hiccups here and there that I'm not the biggest fan of with this game, but overall I am absolutely loving the time I spend with it. Good breakdown, my friend! I'll be using points from this to help coach my buddies getting into Deadlock for sure.

Definitely more stuff about playing from behind! That's a huge pain point in MOBA player bases: the willingness to forfeit at the slightest hint of a deficit stops players from actually learning how to play from behind, which feeds even deeper into the mentality. Let's close that knowledge gap early!
@alexk7173Ай бұрын
small recommendation, I think you can really add some value by just throwing up the stat block of an ability when you mention it ( I.E throwing up dynamo's ult ability stat card when you mentioned it), it can help players both know what you're talking about and maybe get more ideas if theyre seeing the stat card for the ability for the first time. fantastic video cant wait to see you grow man
@alliu6562Ай бұрын
7:30 this specific moment is *so* huge for y’all. Staggered deaths is definitely one of the top ways people throw games, and they’re usually caused by one fed player getting overconfident and thinking they can 1v6, when in reality, it’s better to play around your teammates. Even if you think your teammates are the worst players in existence, chances are they can at least provide distractions and extra HP bars for your enemies to hit, thus making it easier for you to win the fight. By pointlessly sacrificing his life for a low chance at getting rejuv, Infernus made it so his teammates are almost guaranteed to lose fights for the next minute or so. At this point, you also gotta weigh the benefit of even managing to steal it. Is it worth losing the next two or three fights for a small chance at getting rejuv? What would rejuv even do for you at this point? It would’ve been smarter to give it up, do a different objective, and turtle until rejuv is over. But instead, what would’ve been a bad situation was just made worse by Infernus’s poor macro decision. Of course, no one makes perfect plays all the time, that’s impossible. But it’s important to recognize that if you want to get good at deadlock, your macro skills need to catch up to or even surpass your gunplay.

I have a bit of feed back on the segment at 4:30 where you talk about taking into account who is strong on each team. You use K/D as the main measure of seeing who is strong, when I think that simply looking at the soul count is more effective. The McGinnis on your team has 20k souls compared to Mo and Krill's 17k, despite Mo and Krill having more kills. Souls in this game aren't just money, they also go toward levelling your character which when paired with the fact that you use souls to buy items, means that souls are the biggest factor when considering the strength of a character. Great video by the way.

Great content. Do you think you could make a video on how to create a build? Maybe with some commentary in match as to why those decisions were made? I know builds aren't set in stone but it's tough to create a build as a new player without any context.

If you get the chance, I’d love a video on some Paradox builds. She feels like she needs to work way harder to get the same value as other heroes, between having the worst gun in the game for farming to her reliance on spirit damage while having abilities that don’t scale with spirit, her ult putting her in bad positions with no escape- her kit feels so cool but so hard to get value out of. I’ve tried skirmishing with stuff like extra charges on her wall and superior stamina and mystic shot/tesla and they can be fun but it still feels like I suffer in direct confrontations.

good video! this seems more applicable to high mmr than anything else as you need a lot of coordination. if youre that infernus, should you make it a goal to be present for as many teamfights as possible?
@QDRG642 ай бұрын
IMO yeah, the team was ahead in souls w/ Infernus being the most fed. So looking for fights w/ his team woulda been a good way to capitalize on that lead. Either that or the team shouldn't be so forward like at the 6:00 min mark cuz they know the Dynamo was looking for an ult.
@Schizug2 ай бұрын
I think the Infernus split pushing wasn't bad, his walker kill reclaimed some AP for his team. I think the team shouldn't have been playing so forward and grouped vs Dynamo. We had really excellent team fight and they probably could have split up more.

really awesome video, this gives me new perspectives on deadlock matches on multiple fronts. I often felt a little directionless during mid game and like I wasn't sure how to make macro calls myself instead of just following where my team was fighting. I think that the ideas from this vid will help me a lot there :) If you are looking for future topics, I'd love to get better at reading my teammates, reading fights, and scouting. my worst games tend to involve me not knowing where anything is happening, commiting right as my team leaves, and always trying to catch up/react to what's happening in game. This video helped with these issues, but id love to hear you say more on this specifically. again, great video, I've loved them all so far and I'm really looking forward to more! @BackwardsPancake2 ай бұрын
AFAIK there is still no way to actually directly pick your heroes in normal queue. You just choose at least 3 and the game gives you one at random, you see what you get, and you make due. Luckily, the comp is somewhat less important in Deadlock anyway. Some heroes are predisposed to roles, but it's more about items/playstyle, and you can vary your build depending on what's needed. E.g. Shroud's guys kind of lacked a brawling frontline tank (Abrams/Mo), but they had an Infernus rushing Leech and Spirit Lifesteal. The one thing he could have done better is realize that he really was the only one who could create a disruptive frontline, and maybe invest in debuff/CC resist (or a silence to stop that Mo who kept locking him down) as well, since he had such stacked backline of 2 snipers and Wraith to rely on. And maybe their Pocket could have built for survival first as well (he can be extremely annoying to kill even aside from his 3, if he has good spirit lifesteal and he lands an ult, or if he stacks shields and refreshes them with Veilwalker).
@JohnSmith-ri2ed5 күн бұрын

Great video. You easily have the potential to grow massive in this space. One criticism is that you seem nervous recording. It’s an extremely common public speaking weakness that leads to other public speaking weaknesses. The easiest fix is to imagine that your mouth is full of molasses as you speak. You should feel as if you are speaking extremely slow, ideally you should be annoyed at how slow you are speaking when recording. This is because the recording nerves trick you into thinking you are talking to slowly but when you listen back you will sound as if you are simply having a conversation. Again great video, the best educational deadlock content by a wide margin. I’m excited for the next video.
