Drones don't replace jets or artillery. Turkey has a well running defense industry, but they are behind in tech. They can produce consumer goods like wash machines, car parts, freezers, etc. And they can assemble a lot of other things. But they lack in chemistry, biochemistry, electronics, AI, internet technology, ... I don't know why Turkey doesn't focus more on its economy and its institutions. If they want to become a leader, they need to catch up. They have enough people to do those things.

@@devalapar7878Turkish aviation and defence-military industry was USA biased. Jets, Awacs, tanks, acvs and many more things directly bought with little to none technology share. This experience gave Turkish industry an ability to develop its own technology. There was a time where things went bad and this self made technology article became critical, Heron uav purchase. As many know, Israel has close relationship with USA, and despite being in NATO, Türkiye always had different regional worries, such as pkk and its Syria part of ypg and isis. Türkiye wanted to use Heron against terrorist organizations, but Heron purchase agreement contains restrictions about where and which targets will be targeted by Turkish Army's Herons. This article kept going on with many more countries, such as Germany's MTU withdrawed from Altay MBT engine contract, Canada ruled embargo on optic systems, etc. So, Turkish industry is developing for 20 years really, before that there was an heavy trust for allies, but different interests of different countries caused a conflict. There is some big projects, such as Kaan fighter jet, self made military grade tank engine named BATU, Baykar's Kızılelma, and Tusas Anka-3. The edge is closing every year and industry just trying very hard to catch up, cause the region Türkiye belongs is a hot place for conflicts. I just want to tell that, lack of technology thing is not bad as you named it cause many abilities producted/developed in this short run, such as Aselsan's Cats(started with Canadian Wescam embargo),400-1000hp military grade multifuel diesel engines and marine variants, active protection systems such as Akkor and Pulat, self made engines such as PD170 used in MALE drones, Murad aesa radar is still under development, radar absorbent stealth paint and list goes on, projects which still under development are just not on USA standarts, so they just keep developing those until catch up or at least have an edge against its modern variants . Just need some more time. I hope I enlightned a little bit.

Anyone that knows anything about stealth design, the unclassified parts released by the government online, can glance at this and see the bulls**t runs deep in this video. Exhaust isn't serrated. They're using flathead screws. The F-117 team had to INVENT a new type of screw fastener that wasn't a good radar return, and remember, those were buried in the skin. I counted AT LEAST 7 protrusions for cameras, antenna, etc.Where they showed the assembly line is where they REALLY messed up. That internal structure has literally ZERO done to mitigate radar. This thing MIGHT hide from some medium band, but all air defenses use long, medium and short bands in order to find a weakness in design in order to detect it. Nothing is invisible. But I assure you, neighboring countries will know when this turd is rolling down the runway. They're about 50% of the way to a true stealth drone. Keep at it fellas!

Not possible for this to be true stealth. The data link will cause it to emit RF radiation and light it up like a flashlight at night. And is it even equipped with a real stealth coating which is critical in reducing the RF returns. It's easy to copy the shape of other stealth drones but the details matter. Looking at the panel gapes and presence of rivets, I'll say it isn't really that stealthy, just made to look good.

It's easy to copy the general shape, but actually flying a shape that scatters radar is the hard part. The Russia physicist who came up with the idea didn't think it was possible. There's a lot about this aircraft reported here that is clearly bogus. The drone displayed is obviously of simple aluminum construction and exhibits no stealth technology other than a small cross section. Using Dzeus type fasteners to attach fuselage panels strongly suggests metal skins, not carbon fiber or even GRP as those materials do not support such fasteners adequately. The delta planform and grey paint look like something built in Hollywood for a low budget movie. It looks like something you can see flying on El Mirage flats by hobbyists almost any weekend. The aircraft is a propaganda piece at best.

The turks have a long history as great warriors. My Uncle fought along side them as a US Army SGT in Korea and had nothing but praise and admiration. My Turk friends are great Americans and allies. Sadly Turkey is always in flux which is a benefit and a danger. The US, and Europe, have largely been on the grey zone with regards to extremist Kurdish groups that have committed atrocities not less than ISIS. But, they are much more tolerated as they don’t target Europe but Turkey. Arming, training and giving air cover to terrorist groups has undermined any trust that Turkey could have had for the US. Also, let’s not forget, the US has moved from hampering Turkish attempts to equip itself to fights its potential enemies (mainly Kurdish terrorists), to arming, giving a platform, financing, and being a vocal voice to Turkish enemies. So, don’t pretend the US has been the loyal ally you want portray. The US was never loyal but to its interests.

Dear defense industry enthusiast friends; According to the general manager, the Anka 3 is actually a demonstration of flying wing technology.. There will be different scaled models in the future. It is predicted that advanced models will have more ghostly details. (Joints points, coating, nozzle , targecting pod/eots etc. ) Some experts predict that an effective model will emerge, especially for the deep strike, SEAD/DEAD, EW/ES. There are also comments that there will be a smaller scale model, especially for reconnaissance, surveillance and intelligence. To summarize, Anka 3 is the first step of an operation concept project rather than the final product. All I have said is based on open source information in Turkish, such as interviews with company officials and some defense media sources.

Lol why waste time and money developing something and then have to build it better again. Like the fueselage etc showing bolts and screws meaning not as stealthy. Why not build it properly on first go. Like Australia MQ28A Ghost Bat. first ever model was built 3D Printed and has seamless joints making it stealth as much as can 1st attempt. It also is concept and will come bigger etc as said are already building bigger and better models.

@@nedkelly9688At first glance, it can be said that such a process management leads to a waste of money and time. However, TA may have chosen a model that could work on the flying wing instead of the final product. This is a situation related to the risk-taking approach of the company's investments. They already cover the research and development costs of the project from their own resources.Public and private companies in Turkey allocate more shares to research and development costs compared to previous years. We don't have data on what the air force wants on jet-powered drones. That's why both BAYKAR and TA are free to develop what they want.
