Yes they are. The worst happens in the USA. Europe has more than dbl the population but only a fifth of crime vs USA. A lot has to do with high drug use and lack of gun control!

You will know tyranny before America does, although it is going that route just as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, UK, etc are. At least they will be able to fight against their own government whilst the listed ones (and there are others like Germany) will just have to comply as they have been for a few decades now. Tsk tsk tsk. When populations have capitulated to the long arm of government willingly is extremely sad. Shows the lack of history education.

The laws change periodically in different States. So if the death penalty is no longer legal in that State, it will be commuted to a life sentence instead.

Where all three stories set in the US? One of them should of been set in Ireland. I don't know about the life sentences in Ireland but probably the UK. I don't know.
