Of course- social workers are so hemmed in by laws- they probably just wanted to leave the problem alone.

The mom was probably terrified but kept him there out of love and look what happens. Evil child.

Yeah, if I was related to him AT ALL I would be filing for a restraining order if the court lets him out. He wouldn't be living with ME!!

He should be locked up forever. It's so terrible and terrifying to be killed in the hands of your child - the kid you've loved somehow and raised.

There are billions of children who are orphans or lost their parents to accidents, sickness or natural causes who dream of having a mother or father or their parents back. Most would be inconsolable if they killed their father even if it was allegedly “self-defense.” I lost my mother & father & miss them dearly even though it is part of life. This reprehensible evil psychopath has no remorse. Many psychos & sociopaths can mimic normal people so they fool everyone around them but this kid screamed red flag. I feel so bad for the mother & father. You can criticize them but they obviously tried. Can you imagine the conflict of the love you have for your child & squaring it with the possibility that he could be a dangerous psychopath? At what point will you know & decide to commit him or try something extreme? Listen to his deluded takes & look at his calm demeanor. Apparently he tried to rewrite history while talking to his Grandmother by saying how he wanted to “peacefully coexist?” This kid had a grandiose sense of entitlement & obviously doesn’t feel normal emotions. He is a danger to society. How he could even live with himself after killing his father & murdering his mother is beyond me. He killed the two people who’d love him unconditionally. I don’t know if the grandma is supporting him & as conflicting as it may be she needs to cut him off. He killed her child. It doesn’t matter that he is her grand son. He is evil. He needs to be locked up forever

To "inform" the jury members of only A justifiable self-defense killing (and not mention WHO was killed) being previously committed by the defenfant... is seemingly too much of a "middle of the road" solution or indecisive one at that. That said, it's difficult to see why a justifiable killing couldn't simply be ommitted similar to the other gazillion justifiable acts of which were previously committed by the defendant (and everyday people alike).... And furthermore, even if each of Collin's jury members do so happen to independently lack... concluding the chance of the defendant actually happening to have justfiably killed his own father, then it's only a matter of progression- based time (the even decades and centuries to come...) before people gradually become more aware of "anonomous" stipulations playing roles in trial cases such as Collins (by watching on the news or just simply hearing about such trial cases..). And obviously next is for such jury members to conclude that the reason their not being personally informed of WHO was justifiably killed by the defendant... is because (or possibly) this justifiably killed person, has somethiing in common with whoever was killed in the current trial case pending against the defendant.
