@@shlubodub1051 The day before we collectively lost our innocence. There was bad shit in the 90s, sure. Desert Storm, Luby's Massacre, OKC Bombing, etc, sure... but there was this sense of hope and calm all the same. This excitement to see the future. Technology was developing so fast. You'd buy a gadget on launch and in a week it was completely obsolete. It was great, and when Y2K didn't happen, that hope and that lust for the future got even stronger... and then 9/11 stole that hope. Stole that zest for life. I was in 2nd grade at the time, so I was young, but I wasn't stupid. I could read the room and I knew that shit had changed. When all the adults, the ones you look to, are scared and quiet, you notice. And sometimes you just wish you could go back to 9/10. Just before everything changed. Just to get that feeling of foolhardy optimism back, just for a day.

@@Deltexterity At first I considered it something like a surrealist movie where there is no bigger context just situations and stuff that is not about any particular story but rather ideas, or even just feelings it aims to cause in it's viewer. It still might be the case, though in one of previous animations you can see sort of job interview fox character conducts with cat character, so there seem to be at least some sort of theme going on here with cat taking part in some sort of fox's business venture. Characters were also depicted using a kid cart in some artworks so it might be just two animal-people kids playing and since we observe whole thing from their perspective the lens is somewhat distorted.

I've heard there's some third party tool (might be Captionfy?) you can use to manipulate KZbin captions like this, but I had no idea it was capable of this sort of thing. Had to go back and rewatch after seeing this comment, and until the song started I was wondering if I had been duped, since they weren't even tracking to the left or the right to match the characters' positions. But clearly that is a thing you can do.

I watch a LOT of animation, and it is difficult to argue personally that your style is anything less than my absolute favorite. It's so wonderfully crisp, the juxtaposition of real and animated is somehow done more naturally than I've ever seen it, the colors are always vibrant, and the character designs are adorable! Every one of your videos is an absolute joy to watch and I hope that one day this could get picked up as a full animated series or something. On top of all that, you've got this weird semi-surreal mystique built around the world that I'd love to see more of.

The implication that there are more Cool Times to come has me downright giddy. I've raved and ranted on other videos just how much I appreciate the distinct aesthetics DeadlyComics constructs, and this video has forced me to do so once again. Very few artists ever manage to suggest so much through their settings and backgrounds. It creates this cozy sensation of a lived-in world that I've (almost) never been able to experience elsewhere, and it lights up my brain in a way basically nothing else does. I'm currently studying video game art and design, and their capacity to make the viewer want to dive in and explore every scene they conceive would be an ESPECIALLY powerful tool if they ever worked on a point-and-click style adventure/puzzle game. That shot of all those buttons (2:34) in the elevator _immediately_ drew my mind to a few different titles I've played in the past. So many buttons to push, so many places to go... I could immediately envision unlocking all those options throughout one's journey to the supply room. On that note, I recommend anyone who enjoys portions of this video's aesthetic to have a look at a PaC game called Mechanarium. It isn't QUITE the same, but it was close enough to make me toss that "almost" into my declaration a few lines back. Deadly, if you're reading this, myself and your many others fans continue to adore the way your brain works. It's a very cool brain that has very cool ideas. I hope you're taking good care of it!

This series and universe are why I'm happy to financially support DeadlyComics. It does such a great job raising intrigue. It's surreal, whimsical, mysterious, with a hint of something sinister lurking in the background. I want to see the lore and characters expanded upon hugely. I want to learn more about what's going on in this strange building. What are these animals up to? What's watching them from the dark? It feels like the perfect setting for a point and click adventure game where you start off knowing very little and slowly piece things together as you open up more areas. It makes me so happy and I've resolved every time we get a new Cool Times video I'm buying a piece of merch.

What if the giant house is a representation of the creative mind? Like, there are so many ideas there just everywhere in seemingly random places. Some of them do not work for the creative mind, like the chair on top of the RV, and they are discarded (being thrown off the house). Those ideas are then left there for a long time and then re-discovered when the fox finds them again (like the elementary school clock). Also, what if the fox symbolizes the part of the mind that is very frantic and goes from concept to concept very fast, and the cat symbolizes the more rational part of the mind that tries to make sense out of all this by asking what is his job around the place?
