I love good stories that have real historical ties. Hvalsey was a real colony in Greenland and the church there was host to the wedding of one Thorsten Olfasson and Sigrid Bjornsdottir in 1408. The mention of the wedding is the last written record of the Greenland Norse. This couple later moved away to Iceland.

Uurrrrgh... you nailed it. I left the timeline a little vague so as to avoid trodding the "toes of History". I hope I got the ice cap right. I still miss the stories of him we will not name but so many have replaced him and done it well. I just wanted to say how much I love the stories. They are all behemoths!

so these Vikings encountered a kraken and a buncha giant isopods. Maybe even a sea scorpion from a bygone era.
@michaellockhart61763 жыл бұрын
Got it in one Garry! They are pretty much post-Viking era - more Medieval - the situation was based on what happened in Greenland at the time - Vikings were the first known settlers and their colonies failed - they were later revived and account for the current population. Easier to survive with modern tech and trade... plus maybe the Kraken and Isopods are gone or dormant... maybe - I considered an afterwards with an incident in modern times - decided to leave the end in History...

Basically no one in europe and even less scandinavia could swim before around the late 1800s 4. Chimneys was not available for commoners in scandinavia before at least the 1300s

"was not"? - most hearths would have passed through the thatching - you may want to check the dates - this story occurs in the 15th Century (that's the 1400s for you knuckle-draggers) Thoughtful criticism is appreciated - courtesy is as well - you were clearly indoctrinated in a left-tard public school - perhaps an ameri"con" university - in any case, you are rude, ill-informed, and inattentive - take your vitriol elsewhere and leave the entertainment to we Bears and our Two-Leg friends. Uurrrrgh... 🐻❄🐻⚔⚖ ZFor my Two-Leg friends - I'm still dying - faster pace than usual, yet slower than I'd anticipated - I don't get to comment as much as I'd like - I spend most of the time that I'm able to sit up for a few hours at a time, watching videos or typing bits and pieces of stories - I'm nearing conclusion on one - a subject I have not previously tackled (The Dine do not say their name, so I won't... and don't in the story - you'll know what it is. Despite the moron that wrote the nasty comment to which I am responding - the rest of you know that I have a library (That's "lie-berry" for you, kirby) and use it to research the framework for my fiction.
