i remember as a kid, i used to listen to dubstep for the drops and never really cared about the musical or atmospheric element. when i discovered this song, i waited and waited for the drop, and it never came. but when i was waiting, i realized how absorbed and moved i was by it. i cant put it into words, but it shifted my dumb noise obsessed teenage mind into finding beauty in the sonics and composition of music as opposed to some gimmicky "drop". this song really changed the way i listen to music.

This song is a portrayal of the 5 stages of grief/how it feels to lose a loved one. As the song progresses, this is what each section of the song reminds me of. 1. Denial - 0:00 You are lost. You feel empty, overwhelmed, nothing makes sense. 2. Anger - 0:25 You question yourself: Why didn't I spend more time with this person? Why me? Why didn't I do something about this earlier? 3. Bargaining - 1:33 You will do anything to get that person back. You want your loved one restored. 4. Depression - 3:36 You feel emptiness once again. It lasts forever. Why go on in life? Is there any point? 5. Acceptance - 5:25 You must live in a world without your loved one. It is the new norm you need to accept. The person will always be in your heart. I can't describe what this song makes me feel. I am extremely thankful that I have not lost a loved one during my life, but I can only imagine that this song is what it feels like to go through a loss. If you took the time to read this comment, thank you :)

@arthurstone6522 жыл бұрын
@@alexm7777 You just answered your own question my friend, it is hard not to dwell on the past and/or regrets. You simply don't... I know, I know, much easier said than done but try replacing the word "dwell" for "learn". Learn from your past, everything you've done, learn from it. Understand that the past is the past, something that can't be changed but only learned from. With that knowledge, take it into your future and shape it to your absolute best version of yourself. You don't need to revel in the past, but understand why/ how it happened, learn from it, and keep climbing, because we are already at the very top of the mountain, and we're barely just getting started... Hope this finds you well, and as always, have a good one my friend. -S

To keep it short it was hell, abuse, food insecurity, moving from place to place, homelessness. And then it was over and this song came on, and I cried so hard. Thank you Deadmau5 for making this, it's a beautiful peace of art that has helped me process my emotions and grow better as a person. I was 12 then, now I'm 18 going on 19. Very precious memories.

man, I remember listening to this song on repeat when i was in the 10th grade and only 15 years old. I was texting this girl and finally mustered up the courage to tell her how I felt, always the worry of uncertainty being the biggest roadblock as a kid. Turns out she was into me and I got the text back listening to this song. It was the first time i felt something like love towards a "partner". I can still recall the feeling listening to this song now. it changed me...Anyway, the point of this comment is to say that you will never be the best version of yourself if you don't seize every opportunity you can in your life. Take a leap of faith! believe in yourself! you may have people to help you on your way but nobody is going to do it yourself. It comes down to you...YES YOU! Be the best version of yourself and you will radiate happiness until the day you die.

Almost 2 years ago, I lost a close friend of mine, due to him overdosing on alcohol and drugs, this made me very sad as a person, me losing a close friend is something I never imagined would happen at such a young age, life since then has been very different, more ups than downs though, and that all thanks, to one person, this person, I met 4 months ago, made my life a lot happier than it used to be, mainly her caring and kidness is what made me really like her, and I can't see a life without her, because she is that important to me, she did things for me, that no one else did, everyone failed to make me feel happy, except her, she is by far the most amazing human I've ever met, because the things she did, also means a lot for the people around me, before I met her, people would mostly see me sad and depressed, but now, people see me, happy, and thankful for living this life I am living Karla, I love you, so so much, you did so so much for me, and even when we don't talk, you do a lot for me, because I know, you love me, for who I am as a person, you are extremely special and worthy to me, te amo mucho, mi amor

Me too, she left me alone in this world full of lies, She didn't pass away but she left me when my dad passed away and she left me for the sake of another husband😭😭😭and I haven't seen her for a really long time,about 2 or 3 years,she's like a dead mother though😢

I wish I could see you again, grandma. I went to your house to have lunch everyday. We talked about modern days when we turned on the computer. Don't you remember all of those pictures? Don't you remember when you showed me the internet? Please, grandma, now show me how to live without you... How to live without the one who introduced me to the world, without the one who made my childhood, without the one who made the cousins be together. Now that you're gone, they're gone too... They went with friends, and I'm alone, grandma, I'm alone... I found a friend, but my thoughts are still private. Thank you for everything, grandma. I love you.

Everytime I'm having a bad day or I'm just lonely. I always find myself coming to this song. I just sit here and think about all the good times i've had in my life and the reason why i should keep pushing forward and move past all of the hardships and just make myself better

This makes me remember allot of things... When I needed to put my dad in jail because of my mom... When my dad cried in front of me and said he will love me forever... When he tried to buy anything he could for me... I am legit crying.. It makes me realize that my life is wrong, I tought this was normal when this happened. I remember fighting on the phone and screaming, loud, loud screaming. Me crying in my room all alone, nobody with me. eating chocolate and staring at the wall. I also remember when my boyfriend kissed his best friend in front of me... My only friend, the only one I loved. All gone in one second, being depressed the next day. Cutting myself... Feeling useless, that leads me to the internet. To find people that care, to find songs like this... Thank you... Thank you for this song, and thank you for reading..

This reminds me of the fact that I'll never be able to go back to memories, you think about them and you get happy because you remember how wonderful they were but you really want to do them again so you realize you can't. And then it hits you that every good thing that happens in your life can't be re-visited, and every time you try it just makes you long for better times even more. You can't remake something as beautiful as a good memory, but you can always look at them again, some of the most beautiful things in life cannot be touched or bought or even seen. Some things are just so perfect that they are just there to remind you that you are never going to acheive happieness out of things, and I know this sounds cheesy but it's true. If it wasint for these things no matter what they are, the world would not have value.

I get your trying to say something deep but uhhh...."you can always look back to them" then follow up with "some of the most beautiful things cannot bee seen..." you contradict.

I used to date a Mexican girl, and one day, she messaged me saying that one of her cousins died in hospital, I didn't cry or anything, but I did feel some sort of emptiness inside of me, knowing what happened, even at work I couldn't think straight, it took me like, a few days to realise what happened, and also it took me, like 2 days to calm down and think about other more uplifting things, I guess finding a connection to someone as close as I had with her, is going to be almost impossible, Karla, please know, that I still love you, and that I am always here for you

I used to live north of Paris (I now live in Belgium). There has been many terrorist attacks there recently and my parents worried about my safety there. They wanted me to leave there. So I would travel to parts of Europe to see what place I would move there. The last day I was in Paris, I listened to this song, knowing that I would have to leave a place that I have stayed for many years. This song always makes my memory drown away and the only thing I know is the song. This is one of the best EDM song of all time.

I have an iPod with a lot of music I heard from my hs days. This being one of them. I’ve always felt a sense of sadness with this one and I really loved that. I’m 27 now and a hs friend passed away last week on the 29 of August. I haven’t seen, spoke or really even thought of her for quite some time. She passed away on her birthday, I don’t know how.. and I don’t wanna know how but I’m honestly sad about it. I didn’t go to her wake or funeral and I think I should have gone to her wake at least. Idk what stopped me from going but something did. I believe I’m regretting it now but there’s obviously nothing I can do about it other than pray. Maybe one day I can visit her.. rest up friend. 🐢🎸
