Here is the irony: Disney is going to feel pressure to make Deadpool 3 PG-13 and try to create another No Way Home level multiverse cameo co-starring "event" BUT the minute they refuse to let this film be R rated...a huge section of the hardcore fanbase is going to turn against them and know that Reynolds lost a very important battle with the studio. And if they commit to the R rating, a lot of the pearl clutchers and protective Disney parents that do stil happen to exist are going to throw fits over the R rating as well as the violent/sexual content in the film and any vulgar language. It sort of hurts them and creates a very miniature PR disaster for them either way.

Can Deadpool 3 save the MCU? No. If this movie turns out as good as the first Deadpool movie (and that's a big if where Disney/Marvel are concerned), it will be an anomaly just like NWH and Guardians 3. A brief respite for the MCU at the box office if you will. The trouble for the MCU is that people who are helping to destroy it are still in charge. Been hearing rumors of behind the scene fights between Reynolds and Disney/Marvel execs. There was the rumor last week where Anthony Mackie blew up and nearly walked off the set of CA4 because of the lack of a shooting script. Then there are multiple projects that are delayed for various reason; Daredevil and Blade. There are projects in the pipeline fans and general audiences don't want, like Iron Heart, but are getting anyway. The rumors surrounding X-Men and F4 that sound horrific. It sounds like Disney/Marvel are in absolute turmoil. Why? Because the people who are in charge are not reading room and refusing to change course. The only way to save what's left of the MCU is if there is a dramatic change in leadership. Starting with firing Iger, the Disney board, Feige and down to middle management at Disney/Marvel. Then you can start to think of getting the MCU back to basics and going for stories and characters that fans and general audiences will gravitate to in the future. Until then nothing changes.

Like many before me have said: Marvel must remove the rot at the top before I can come back. Feige and Iger must turn over the reins to creatives and executives who respect the source material and the legacies of Marvel's greatest heroes. Deadpool is so firmly associated with Ryan Reynolds that if it does well it will be on Reynolds and Jackman. If it underperforms it will be on Disney meddling. A PG-13 cut will help about as much as it did for Deadpool 2, whereas leaving the Deadpool v Wolverine showdown intact in the film can alone be worth the price of the ticket for most fans. The film will probably be within the range of its two predecessors, but it will lift the MCU about as much as GoTG 3 did, even if it breaks a billion.

PG-13 Deadpool would be immediately recognized by fans as Disney meddling. In trying to chase a wider audience, they would antagonize their established base. This is especially risky given the general apathy that has settled over wider audiences for superhero flicks in general. That said, it doesn't matter if the movie turns out to be crap anyway. Given it is another multiverse story bringing back a dead AU character, my hopes are not high.

I completely disagree with Kadish. The MCU of old did fine all being released as PG-13 movies. Yes Deadpool can be R-rated but giving younger kids the opportunity to see it also only expands the audience potential. It certainly can’t hurt it… 🙄

The movie itself would probably be a box office hit because the previous ones, even if it's from FOX, are good and has garnered the audiences good faith. It'll definitely have enough hype. Unfortunately, whatever Disney inappropriately touch nowadays turn to trash. Only time will tell. This could also be the start of the end for this franchise 🤷

Ryan Reynolds said he wanted to explore Deadpool’s “sexuality”. Deadpool 3 have She-Hulk writers and Zeb Wells who did Spider-Man dirty. 🤦‍♂️ X-Men: First Class blamed the Cuban Missile Crisis on a SS Mutant and not the communists (who were depicted as not wanting to escalate). Many refugees from communism, including Cuban-Americans, were offended by that. Bill C was no “moderate” (Hillary was actually in charge, anyone watching Pinky and The Brain knew that), Bill (Hillary) just was unable to get away with doing more back then (they lost congress).

I don't think that DP3 will fail if RR was able to do what he does so well with this character. However, DP3 will not save the entirety of MARVEL STUDIOS because the same people with the same lack of intelligence are still going to be the ones running the studio and planning and forming the films.
