Seems like it can help, but it's not necessarily something anyone using a Slingring can do perhaps? There may need to be some base requirements and ability to achieve it. Like the one used by this Cassandra Nova, who resides in the Void World. She has experienced Multiversal Travel, is a Powerful Telepath (Has exceptional mental fortitude and will) and has seemingly used it often to hunt variants of her Brother for fun. It seem's like she has chosen to reside in the Void to prevent the TVA, various Kangs and other powerful muliversal travelling foes from actively pursuing her. No sane person would willingly go to the Void, especially if they are aware she lives there without being eatten by Aliath. It would be suicide. So the basic plot of sending the "Gullible" & expendable Deadpool and odd variants of other characters there to kill her seems like a decent plan for anyone wanting to stop her. Doctor strange ought to be able to use the slingring to navigate the multiverse after the events of the MVoM. Though most sorcerers with Slingrings who know how to do it, likely don't to avoid inadvertently creating Incursion Events. Even messing with the memory spell too much caused a potential multidimentional incursion. Cassandra Nova may cause a multidimensional collapse from all her Xavier hunting. Which may set up the conditions to create God Emperor Doom's Battle World to decide the fate of who remains in the Mainline Universe.
