I watched this movie on the theater with my aunt, for context she hasn't even seen Logan and maybe 1or 2 of the X-men movies. I felt pretty bad for her. But to be fair to REALLY appreciate this you have to be a huge nerd like me and be paying attention to Marvel, including the comics since the 90s, that's quite the ask of the audience. My knowledge stopped at Apocalypse-era Wolverine, I don't know who the eye-patched or the crucified ones were

Scripts and screenplays can be found online. I challenge anyone to find one (especially one you haven’t seen, or at least not more than a few times), pick a random scene, and try to memorize the dialogue... and on top of that, say those lines so that they sound like it’s natural and not just words being said. Some use cards, some earpieces (Depp supposedly did this for Pirates), and some can memorize not only their own, but also of those in the scene with them (Watson did this in the HP films and can be seen lipping them in TPS as a kid.) For me, the talent is not remembering lines, it’s how they are able to bring emotion out of those words and put life into the scene.

Any job, show someone doing it way above and beyond, and just saying "that's their job" doesn't make it less. For those of us who grew up with the pre-mcu movies Blade showing up is like if Jesus just randomly showed up at the Vatican. I saw Blade 1 in theaters opening weekend because seeing a total badass, one-liner talking Super Hero on screen was new and we didn't know if we'd ever see something like that again. Blade was so good (and still is) it's what's promoted studios to want to seriously make Super Hero movies again instead of silly or just plain God awful cash grab films we were getting then. Without Blade being a massive hit we wouldn't have gotten X-Men (No Hugh Jackman as Wolverine), Fantastic 4 (No Chris Evans eventually being Captain America) or Spiderman (Imagine a world with no Spiderman movie memes. I don't want to think about that sad world), whose successes and interests would lead to the MCU being something viable. Blade was the comic book movie game changer. And for many of us, including me personally, he's still our favorite Super Hero. Seeing him do his thing one more time after all these years was amazing. I was LOSING it in theaters.

Fun fact: Headpool was voiced by actor Nathan Fillion. Making this the fourth MCU movie he has worked on, playing a different character every time. He is really good friends with James Gunn, so he worked on all three Guardians of the Galaxy movies. In Vol. 1 he voiced the big blue alien in the prison that got Groot's fingers shoved up his nose. His part in Vol. 2 was cut for time, but he did film a scene, and in Vol. 3 he was the lead guard in Master Karja. He is also friends with Ryan Reynolds since they worked together on the TV show Two Guys and a Girl, which was originally called Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place. They also share a connection as Fillion has voiced the Green Lantern in the DC Comics animated movies and has been cast as the live action Green Lantern in the DC Universe. Ryan Reynolds played the Green Lantern in a live action movie too. Nathan also worked with Morena Baccarin who plays Vanessa in the Deadpool movies on the TV series Firefly and the feature film Serenity that came after the series was cancelled. I believe this is the first feature film they've both worked on since Serenity which released in 2005. I highly recommend reacting to the TV series Firefly and the movie Serenity.

I've just recently found this channel. I love it that you're so steeped in MCU stuff now, that you instantly recognize things like the TVA, and know who Toad and Sabretooth are. I, along with so many others, wish you'd have been able to fully appreciate the bait-and-switch that they did with Chris Evans. You are totally set up to expect Captain America; you've seen Wade idolize him; he'd be an epic cameo. When I saw this movie in the theater, I recognized Evans' voice before we ever saw his face. AND, there's a blue sleeve peeking out beneath the ragged hood. I mean, you are CONDITIONED as to what to expect next. And then, it ISN'T. BUT IT STILL TOTALLY MAKES SENSE. I yelled like crazy in the theater, when he says "Flame on!" and the realization hit me. THAT, folks, is how you PROPERLY subvert expectations. It makes sense in context, and the clues are all over the place. (I mean, when Sabretooth, Toad and Pyro are coming out to capture them, the lead vehicle is the FF's Fantasticar. They're giving you a direct hint, there.) Glad you're enjoying it!

Good reaction! With the comics, the X-Men, Avengers, Fantastic Four, etc all exist in the same universe but with the MCU, they didn’t have the film rights to X-Men or Fantastic Four because Fox had them of course. After Fox got bought by Disney, they now can use these characters in the MCU with multiverse travel being the reason. So many Easter eggs in this one. I think it would be great in the future to do reactions or rewatched to older Marvel movies such as Blade, Ben Affleck’s Daredevil, Fantastic Four (2005), & the older Spider-Man ones (those before No Way Home.) I also recommend the first two Venom movies as they are fun popcorn flicks.

Thank you so much for your support! It means the world to me!! It means so much that you enjoyed my reaction to Deadpool & Wolverine. It was fun seeing all the Easter eggs in this film, even if I hadn't seen all the films that it was referencing. I'd love to see more of the older Marvel movies. I've actually seen all the older Spider-Man movies! They were great. It's been a while, so I think it would be fun to re-watch them. I'm excited to see Venom too. I've heard great things about it! Thanks again for being so kind and amazing!

Fun fact: despite popular belief, Gambits powers have nothing to do with the cards themselves. His power is to turn the potential energy of an object into kinetic energy, so if he runs out of cards, ge could just pick up rocks and start doing the same thing. He just loves gambling so he likes his cards lol. Also he doesn't have the most control, so if he charged something like a bowling ball, he could blow up whole blocks. So tends not to lol

In re-watching the movie, I realized that the the plot point of Logan being the “Anchor Being” mirrors the performance of Hugh Jackman; he is the anchor being of the movie itself. His performance in each of his scenes is so powerful, real, and emotional that they keep us emotionally invested in the story as it careens from scene to scene. His soliloquy in the car as he vents about Deadpool’s inadequacy is Oscar-worthy. His facial expressions, tone, body language in every scene are always spot-on to create the correct “feel” for that scene. He is such a consummate professional. Deadpool keeps it fun, but Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine keeps it real…

19:10 “That’s not Steve Rogers. That’s one of the _Fantastic Four_ members.” Captain America would not have ended up here. This is the place where dead characters who don’t make any money end up. That’s Johnny Storm, a.k.a. the Human Torch, from the 2005 movie. Same actor. That kind of thing happens a _lot_ in this film. Consider Sabretooth for a moment. That’s not Liev Schreiber who played him in _X-Men Origins: Wolverine_ from 2009. That’s Tyler Mane who played him in the 2000 film.
