Deadwood South Dakota and Mount Rushmore.

We spent our first day in South Dakota recovering from a marathon of flight delays, missed connections and even switched Airlines. What was supposed to be an 8 hour journey became 16 hours. Tired and frazzled, an easy day was needed. We hit our stride on Day 2 with a scenic road trip to Mount Rushmore. Come along as we explore South Dakota Weekend Nomad style.

My husband and I live only about an hour away from Deadwood, and we go there all the time, we absolutely love it up there, it's basically become our vacation spot lol. But the best times to visit Deadwood would probably be around June/July/August, busy times, i know, but that's when they have all of the best attractions, live shootouts, concerts, ghost tours, other tours of their historic buildings, it's amazing, you wouldn't regret visiting there in the summer.
