WARNING: Don't let your children watch this video or they will have a nightmare. I mean it! This video is great practice for interpreters who want to study America Sign Language (ASL).

Okay I just wanted to say that when I first started studying ASL, I found this video and watched it. Of course I had no idea what it was saying.. But After years of studying, I found this video on youtube again and oh my goodness it's so amazing! I can understand it almost perfectly! I mean it's always amazing that I can understand ASL when someone signs to me, but finally understanding a story that was always unknown to me after all this time is truly amazing.

I feel your pain... I'm deaf and know ASL, but at the same time there can be different regional differences between East, Midwest and West ASL... just like how all English speakers have different accents depending on which part of America they came from. So as an result, I was able to understand only like 90% of what he signed but not the other 10%.

Basically the gist of the story that I was able to understand: A girl was visiting her uncle on a chicken farm, where she learned that chickens could run around with their heads cut off. This creeped her out, but she tried to act normal and ignore it. Her uncle had strict rules, like staying in bed all night no matter what. So when she had nightmares about floating, bloody severed chicken heads she stayed in bed instead of going straight to her uncle (more on my next post due to text limit)

(part two of my post). But it turned out that those floating heads were real. You see, The uncle's wife was missing but in the chicken coops there was this strong scent of a dead body. But she couldn't find anything. so the next night The ghost of the wife appeared, butt naked and covered in blood. her neck was a bloody stump due to being beheaded, and in place of her head there was a giant chicken head. She went to her uncle for help, He did his best but this chicken lady killed him and her too

Hi, my name is Miss Stevie (to my students). I have been working with children with ASD (autism spectrum disorder, who are non-verbal) as well as children who do speak. I have been learning ASL for a few years but I only understood about 40% of what you were saying. You sign so fast! Is there a slow-mo button?! I would love to try to follow what you're saying! Are you a lefty? Or is that just the camera?
@jaimemarshall8183 жыл бұрын
Communicating in American Sign Language is a very VERBAL language. I cringe every time I hear the term: non verbal. If you look up the meaning of VERBAL - it is a form of expression. When a child does not communicate in a spoken language, this is non-VOCAL. Big difference. Talking is verbal, speaking is verbal, signing is verbal!
@stephaniesobczak35073 жыл бұрын
@@jaimemarshall818 I wrote that 7 years ago. The trainings I had been in at that time were using that term. Times have changed; terms are more accurate; thank you for your feedback.

The girl found the uncle’s wife’s dead body in the barn after running from the house. It turned out that the uncle was scared of her “voodoo” tendencies so he killed her. The wife’s soul refused to accept this and did revenge by possessing a chicken’s body. The girl set the barn on fire. And waited outside thinking that she was finally safe. When the possessed chicken suddenly appeared out of nowhere and killed her.
