Man, the ending to this song always gets me, every single time. Between this, In Blur, Villain, Mombasa, Shellstar, this album became one of my favorite pieces of music ever. They’ve never made a bad album. To get this after the masterpiece that was Ordinary Corrupt Human Love, it’s crazy how talented this band is.

Did you say the same thing about Opeth? Opeth doesn’t make death metal anymore, and Deafheaven is always experimenting with all kinds of metal. They’re considered post-black, death, black gaze, shoe gaze, and so many genres. One of the most talented bands I’ve ever heard.

For the last 4-5 years theyre using Peavey 6505s on both shiv & kerry. I think now theyre using some modeller but looks like definitely not kemper. I dont know if it Helix or Axe fx

caracas... tem umas bandas que se perdem em? Ouvi muito o Sunbather, o New Bermuda e o Ordinary Corrupt Human Love, porém meu gosto mudou e eu pensei que essa banda ia continuar interessante pra mim depois do Black Brick. Mas os caras tão fazendo som mais "agradável" e o vocal, talvez não pareça pra você, pra mim é como ver um tio desconhecido saindo do armário. Parece que a lagarta espinhosa e sanguinolenta está se tornando borboleta...

Why are his vocals so dry when the album is completely over saturated with production? This sounds really bad. If I was the band I’d be pretty upset with how this sounds.

I agree. Been listening to Deafheaven since Roads to Judah and this sucks so much. Their new sound is awful and I get that bands want to try a new direction sometimes. But this is just...horrible. Sounds even worse love. In this video they sound like a poor high school band.

@@marooned2614 I adore their new album. I think it’s a beautiful piece of art. It’s amazing music. I’ve always loved the mellow side of deafheaven. But this live sound hopefully is just a bad source of the captured audio. I know the room adds a ton. But I hope they sounded better than this.

theres a live video from Anton Polishko on YT from 4 months ago, of them performing this song live. sounds WAY better, not perfect but he's on key for the most part at least.
