Strange. Delorean was a sports car built in Northern Ireland. Belfast to be exact

Indeed but it was intended to be a mass produced car as I understand, which generally sports cars aren't. Actually having read up you're right it was intended to be a sports car but they had massive quality control issues and apparently poorly trained factory workers. God knows but although it might well be a sports car it is NO way a muscle car.
