The producers, Stargate, produced the beat. Then their label has vocal artists that they can reach out to, to lay the reference vocals down so that Stargate can start to get a feel for what the song will somewhat sound like when they finally land the big name artist they sre shopping it to. Stargate writes a bunch of the lyrics too, but so does Neyo, and they have other wrigers they work with. Johnta Austin just cones down and lays down reference vocals

So they may use a bridge from you, lyrics from neo, and an ending from someone else? WoW 🤯 I am interested in becoming a writer but I'm afraid to sing, hate my voice, afraid to put it out their, and I don't produce beats. I work beat-less to get the most authenticity. Kandi told me once not to worry about how I sound we just need to hear the vocal arrangements ect, but I'm to afraid to do that. I thought it would be my voice heard. But your saying someone would take what I submit--that can actually sing, and re-do it--so I will never be heard--pretty-much? I'm sitting on music but afraid to put it out. I really appreciate your response, I may seriously rethink my efforts--or lack their of-- in song writing
