The brass cased Monarch has always been rebranded PPU (Prvi Partizan) from Serbia. Interesting to see they've rebranded Brazilian ammo now. Brazil is the headquarters for CBC Global Ammunition which is where Magtech products are made. Magtech Ammunition Inc. (in Minnesota), acts as a master distributor to the U.S. market.

This ammo is not very consistent. I can shoot all 14 rounds and about 5 or so will be about 6 inches off while i keep the red dot planted. I proved this by using Blazer Brass in the same gun and landed ALL 14 rounds in the same 2 inch group. swapped back to monarch and same issue, about 5 will be off by 6 inches. Its cheap ammo and i will still buy it.

Picked up a box of monarch today from Academy sports and outdoors. Use a $10 coupon which brought the price down to 49.99. Can’t beat that price for a 250 round box, monarch makes great ammunition..

All 5 stores in my city are out of those 250 count boxes in brass ..... they have like 30 boxes of the steel case but nobody wants those.

Still in stock in my area. I had 2-$10 off coupons which brought it down to 39.99 per box for 2 boxes. The rest still a good price for today. I've not had any issues with this manufacturer. Also, Monarch .223 is competitively priced at .55c per rd. I think the "old days" with the old prices are behind us. Take care.

@@jshepard152 Once in awhile Academy prints them out on a receipt after purchase of anything. Usually its 10% off if you give an email.

It is made by Magtech instead of PPU like the older Monarch. It's good stuff.

Last 3 yrs ive shot tons of Monarch 9mm mostly steel case and 12 gauge I've noticed most are brass case now never buy any for months it's interesting that it says Brazil Happy new year Mad Marine

I just went to Academy last night for the first time ever since it was recommended by a friend, and I'm so happy I did it because I found these Monarch ammo it's only $12.99 a box of 50 but mine are zinc coated Steelcase. I just bought a couple boxes of those, and was very surprised to find 50 round boxes of 40 S&W monarch for only $21.99. I like to support my local shops but I am always on a strict budget and their cheapest nine was always over $20 a box and almost $40 a box for 40 S&W, so I'm definitely taking the a little bit of extra time to drive to Academy from now on. Can't wait to see how these things do in my Springfield Hellcat:-)

Academy had their Monarch 9mm 115 for $11.99 a box .... Went there and ALL of then were pulled from the shelves because of a printing issue. Somehow someone printed Made in Argentina on their boxes. So legally they cant sell that ammo because of a misprint. I was like, $12 a box is a steal .... thats black Friday prices. So anyway had to grab the Blazer brand at $13 a box which is still a great deal but damn that $12 a box was it ....

@@madmarine1078 from the Academy sales person, she showed me their corporate letter and it said to pull the ammo off the shelves due to a mis-print on where it was made. Some kind of legal issue that they cant sell an item if it has the wrong "print" on it, she said she thinks it falls in the false advertising dept. Legal crap IMO ...

@@madmarine1078 She gave it to me to read and thats what it said in lamest terms, due to a mis-print on where it was "made" they cannot legally sell it.

I was able to grab three boxes 2 days ago looked up today online and everywhere around my area is sold out, should have went with my gut and bought a couple extra more bricks but never have shot Monarch and my Ruger LCP, glock 19 and canik mc9 ate it up today with no hiccups. Thanks for sharing and I agree we are headed for a crazy year, outlook appears grim but we have to prep and most importantly be lookn up to our Lord and Savior

Not a ton but some. I know Monarch ammo uses pretty soft brass

I have like 2000 rounds of this stuff. Have never had a problem with it at all. And it’s cheaper than Midwest ammo that is iffy at best. Edit: just checked, and my monarch says made in Serbia.

Yea this ammo is good and clean thats why i keep buying it when Academy stocks back in. Otherwise i stick with Blazer because thats also good clean ammo. I purchased a White box winchester when it was on sale but that ammo was DIRTY ..... huge cloud of smoke with those rounds, shot them all off and never went back. Now its blazer and monarch.
