Very enlightened businessman. Kravis has a mind like a steel trap; his retention, analysis and assessment of facts are breathtaking. I spent 38 years in commercial banking; Henry Kravis is the most brilliant financier I've ever heard. He has his priorities in order; help others be better, companies be better and the world that a person can influence or which is within his/her control to be better. Listening, flexibility and adaptability are keys that he emphasizes. Henry Kravis lives in the real world of human relations and is well worth the effort to learn and understand his knowledge and from his experiences.

PR piece. probably ought to check the track record and look at facts, starting with RJR Nabisco I guess. Maybe there is carnage prior from Bear Stearns days. Financial engineering doesn't create much value and leaves alot of destruction in it's wake.

Led by Jim Ling and LTV, there were others doing deals in the 50s and 60s prior to Bear Strears, KKR, etc., they were not first. These men were the real masters of M&A and the use of financial technology in getting the deals done.
