Not baggin' on flying wheels but the original idea came from wheeler dealers like 10 years ago. Mike Brewer actually did 2 different series of this; worth a looksee bc he goes all over the world, even moving cars from country to country to get the best price. That little modual in the jeep is a throttle control unit, alters the percentage the ecu sees compared to the pedal position. I reccomend them alot to customers who use autos.

@@micharel937 newer vehicles have electronic controlled throttle bodies that use a voltage reading for throttle position. These type of aftermarket add ons alters the voltage signal when you press on the accelerator so in turn you get a quicker throttle response.

Silverado for the flip. It’s about the money.... Get into the 20k range and we can play with some nice toys! I’m doing £10 to a Porsche with my 12 yr old boy and we’re up to a Mini Cooper via a set of skis then a Raleigh chopper the mini will sell for £3000.....once I’ve done the head gasket!

It's a pedal response all it does is up the voltage that's all that is on the jeep it's plugged into the gas pedal. They sometimes cause the throttle bodies to go out. But all you have to do is unplug it and it's good to go.

You think that makes this series a realistic test of whether he (and therefore maybe you) can flip cars using an initial $400 bankroll? Buying a bunch of cars with a huge bankroll, then deciding after the fact which one(s) to pretend were bought with a tiny bankroll, is cheating, plain and simple. You guys are letting him turn it into just a question of whether his 52 most profitable flips of the year, from a big bankroll, make enough to buy any old Ferrari. Obviously yes, but it totally is not in the spirit of turning a small bankroll into a big bankroll by carefully buying and flipping cars using only that original bankroll and the profits from the flips.

The jeep has what is called a pedal commander. They are plug n play ans supposedly help with throttle response.

Craig, Use an OBD scanner (any basic one will do) and check if the emission monitors are set or pending. If they are not set, then that means codes have been cleared(most likely unless it had a dead battery)

The HIKE IT X9 is a 'bite-size' throttle response controller that removes delays in your electronic accelerator pedal. In short, the X9 will get a faster response from your engine and therefore you'll get a modified acceleration depending on the X9 setting you select.

I learned the hard way on that just make sure that when you put it together you don't use the factory timing chain from the dealer because the problem is in the metal of the timing chain you do with an off stock one and it will last longer

The Hike It thing is a throttle controller, which basically makes the jeep feel quicker. It changes how much you have to press the gas pedal to get the jeep going. It gives the illusion of u being faster but in reality, you are just stomping on the jeep without physically stomping on it.

5th gen preludes only came in Base and SH in America. (Type S were overseas) The blue one had the base models wheels. Usually the base had the black trim running along but you could get them paint colored along with spoiler as an option. Please correct me if I'm wrong. (I had a black base model years ago)

Look up ultimate 9, It's the Australian version of what the Jeep has. It essentially changes the throttle position to make it feel faster

That camaro is a $20,000 + car up here right now......I would say go for the camaro for the ferrari flip only because you're trying to do this like a regular person just starting out. It depends on what the market is like for that car down in your area. Like I said, even with the check engine light (could be very minor like a COP) if they are anything like up here, it's a $15K car easy even if it's a little "used". You gotta decide before you get into them though to be fair. Can't back out of the camaro if it turns out it's a timing issue.

That Hike It is a throttle controller. It remaps the throttle curve to make it feel more responsive. They do what they promise and apparently Jeeps can benefit a lot from them but on my car the most aggressive setting is just too twitchy. Also, why are you not checking for monitor ready codes with your scan tool? Avoid anything that's been reset because you know somebody is being shady about it.

I'm going to guess that tag hanging out is a tuner controller you can tune it while you drive for economy, performance etc. Looks sort of like some I've seen. If I'm not mistaken you put a chip in the ECU, (or something) and you can have pre-loaded tunes for differing conditions and just select them on the fly.

That controller adjusts the throttle. No power added, example: give it 35%, that controller is actually giving it 65%. Edit: I would remove it.
