It's not that simple. Seeing a man avoiding confrontation (even when it's the smart thing to do) will trigger the brain of the woman on a subconscious level. She will, probably without even noticing, see you as a less of a man and this, on the long run and along with other mistakes in handling your relationship, can lead to the worsening of your emotional and sexual bond. One could argue that you shouldn't be in a relationship with such a woman but that's not the point. The point is that, sometimes, you have to do the stupid dangerous thing and hope for the best because there's no formula or algorithm to get this stuff right every time.
@warl0rdavenger8204 жыл бұрын
@@michelef406 very valid points you make here. Let's note that my initial point was avoiding trouble which is very different from avoiding confrontation. What that means is you can stand your ground without having to roll in the dirt with someone who isn't worth it. That of course isn't black and white either because if you're being attacked by all means you have to defend yourself and/or family. However, the point of the female subconscious must still be addressed as it is often a factor in the fight/don't fight decision. The female "subconciously" is attracted to and will respect not necessarily the man who jumps into a brawl but more so the one who successfully and fearlessly stands his ground and preserves his territory (family, home, space). Some women may not understand the line between reserving fighting as a last resort and blatantly running away . If you fight first she may regard you as an arrogant idiot and still lose respect for you. She isn't necessarily to be blamed, it is after all how her mind is wired up. So to sum up, fighting should but can't be eternally avoided. It is an obligatory part of being a man. But specifically addressing your point, if a woman for this or any other reason loses respect for the man she is with and wishes to walk then she must. It's that simple and it's as much a part of life for a man as much as the animals he has to fend off.

I was just in this exact situation, minus the fact that I am not married or have kids. Light turns green I go through the intersection and stop because a drunk guy was standing in the street. I honked the horn and he moved and started cussing me out. He was angry. What did I do? I thought about the sadness of having to be drunk to survive living, I laughed and drove home. No, I did not feel like he "disrespected me", whatever that means, no I didn't go home, get a firearm and go hunting. I am not stupid. Looks like this police office, if that what he really is, needs to step down from law enforcement and seek help for mental illness before he makes the wrong decision in the future and it costs someone their life. If you are the type that feels the need to go hunting for human blood when you get "disrespected", it is time to take a good hard look into your soul and re-evaluate a lot of things. "disrespected me". WOW. Man, if I met this guy and he felt that I "disrespected him" (whatever that means), he would loose everything. I can promise you that!!!! Him seeking out human blood will only teach his child to seek the death and blood of another when he just decides that "he was disrespected".

I'm from Chicago, I've experienced a lifetime of run-ins with people looking for trouble. My overwhelming lesson from that is to GET AWAY AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. Fighting with randos has negative risk premium, meaning you only stand to lose something by engaging them vs. doing/risking nothing. If you choose to fight someone to "prove something" you're just letting your emotions overtake your logic and embracing fucking your life up for zero return. Being a man is about taking responsibility for elevating your life & family as much as you can, not taking dumb risks because you can't control your emotions.

8:07 Same thing my parents always taught me. I have an uncle who was in that exact situation. He got picked on by some bully when he was about 16. He could have just backed down, but he didn't. He pushed the guy away from him. Guy lost his balance, fell down some concrete stairs and broke his arm. Guess who got in serious trouble for that? And he was lucky the guy just broke his arm, because he could have broken his neck or cracked his skull and he'd be in jail for manslaughter. So always try to avoid a physical fight if you can. Just walk away. A bruised ego is always preferable to legal issues. Unless you're literally in a corner and have nowhere to go, then go in with malicious intent and don't stop until you can get the fuck out. That doesn't mean be a doormat and take everything like a bitch. Just be smart about it and avoid being dragged down to a level you don't want to be. There's plenty of ways to get back at someone and let them know you're not an easy target other than a straight up heat-of-the-moment brawl.

Be prepared, but as my kung fu teacher drilled into my head, the greatest warrior never has to hit anyone, never has to shoot anyone, and never has to fear anyone. Shore up your verbal jiu jitsu. The "Goal" here is simple: TO KEEP YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD CLEAN, and to maintain the Balance of Respect. There are universal rules of respect that must be upheld BY EVERYONE, for the BENEFIT OF EVERYONE. Addressing the Hoods and the Hobos, and the effects & mechanisms that got them in that situation is the duty of EVERYONE. Anything less is a non-modern way of thinking.

HELP. K I’m in a situation. My neighbour keeps being extremely aggressive towards me when drunk. He is generally a loud mouth. I’ve helped him out so many times. One time his house was broken into and helped him fix the door but then one day while he was playing music very loud early in morning I asked him politely to to turn it down. In my message I said to him let’s try to be respectful but he interpreted this as me demanding respect! He rang me and he was drunk and basically threatened me and my family saying if we had issues none of us could live here anymore. I was shocked. Since then every time he gets drunk I get some passive aggressive message or a phone call. When he’s sober and I see him, he is civilised but I’ve got a feeling that he is going to keep intimidating me every time he is drunk. Just the other day he blasted music up at 9am but I was leaving for work and he started messaging me saying “I’ve a day off today” I feel like I’m being bullied. Now, a younger me would react differently but I’m not about that anymore and I have my elderly mum and sister in my house. How should I react to this??? Im also getting very angry and I feel a confrontation brewing. He has two kids in the house too so I don’t understand how he can blast music at 2am in the morning. What can I do to make him realise that I’m not scared and make him stand down? I personally believe that as long as he keeps drinking, it will always be like this.

I have a belief that I can roll away from most problems. I however have an issue that stops when the threat is for someone that they are terrorizing people who are completely cool but the bad guys go for easy prey. I don’t have the Macho simplex II. It’s how it was for me not having an older brother so I always had to deal with this I hated it. For some reason the radar will lock on a bad guy. I would try to shepherd the victim’s away and that makes me the target. I can’t see someone with terror in their eyes and walk away I can’t do it. I’ve been a victim myself

Backing away from a senseless fight is the smart way to live. Life already brings so many troubles automatically and getting into more trouble just isn't worth it. I'll only fight when my life or my loved ones are in danger. Most of the people looking for trouble are just looking for someone to drag down with them.

I'm a LEO in my own country. Anything like that, I would avoid and call it in immediately. I have in the past. I've made up my mind that unless someone is at risk of dying, I won't get involved. The cost to me and my family is too high.

My family and I pulled into a pizza place to pick up a to go order. As I was walking back to the car, a truck pulled right behind my car and 3 young men got out. I guess they were in their mid-20s and I was in my late forties. One of them said, “We’re gonna kick your ass.” My wife was telling me to get in the car, but there was literally no way to back out and drive off. So I did the only thing I could think of to do: I placed the pizza box on the roof of the car, tossed my glasses through the window and smiled at them. Then I said, “All right, boys, let’s get it on!” That stopped them right in their tracks! They climbed back in the truck and threw a beer bottle at me as they left. My 14 year old son asked me, “Why’d you do that dad?” I told him my tactic was to put doubt in their mind, because cowards fear confidence and when they saw that I was looking forward to fighting 3 men, that shook them! Was I truly looking forward to it? Hell no! They may have kicked my ass, but I would have gone down mean...

That lizard brain thing can take over SO FAST. Before you can even put it in check. There were two occasions when I was riding my bike and another cyclist almost hit me because he was driving on the bike path in the opposite direction. That's already annoying because it's a pretty basic traffic rule that you don't drive on the wrong side, BUT THEN as he passes me he cusses me out like I'm the problem. And I am not a confrontational person at all but in that moment I just want to confront the guy. Thankfully in the two seconds all these thoughts go through me head he and I are already 100m apart, and driving in the opposite direction, so I can't act on it. But it's a sneaky thing that monkey lizard brain thing, you gotta watch out for it.

This is why I have front and rear dashcams. Roll up the windows, lock the doors and let the guy do whatever he's gonna do. Drive away if you can without hitting him, and call the police. Jocko's right, it's just never worth the consequences. The only time violence is justified, is if you absolutely can't avoid harm or death without using it.

This is a good video. The only time to fight is when you absolutely have to. You could go to prison over being disrespected! Then what would that teach a child? Only fight when you absolutely have to.

He stepped over the line returning to the scene. That made him an actor... You do not court chaos. When you get into a chaotic situation, there is nothing but downside to them. Bloodborn Disease, injuries, legal issues, and weapons are all issues that you have no control over. You got your family away from the idiot, that was a win. Now it is time to remember that face as someone to avoid. "Respect" is a trap, most of the people who run around throwing disrespect around are not even on the "respect spectrum" themselves.

The white guy survived but he is paralyzed for life from neck down and viet guy went to prison for 11 years. Avoid unnecessary fights because nobody wins.

you should always be prepared to defend yourself, IN THE EVENT that avoidance or de-escalation fails. The fact that this dude who wrote in is a cop is actually scary. You only gain problems when you get into an altercation, even if it's legally justified. Dealing with cops, lawyers, legal system is expensive and it's a time suck. Unless someone is an imminent threat and fighting is your only option, avoid the confrontation and go on with your life.
