Girl, I so hear you on this one! I am a Mechanical Engineer & for some of my past roles it was so intimidating being a female in a male dominated world. Indeed being a Christian has as well helped greatly, knowing that my father in heaven has my back & that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me 🙌🏾💪🏾😁 One thing for sure it gets easier with time. I love the idea of keeping a record of achievements, also helps when you have to update your CV 🤩 Thanks for sharing!

If you are in the flow and things are comming easy, you need to change pasteurs. You allways need to challenge yourself to improve. Have a little bit fear in behind you, driving you forward. Never stagnate.

I just got a Junior Project Manager position yesterday and the impostor syndrome kicked in the second I was done with the interview! It got worse after I received the notice I got the position! On top of feeling like a fraud, I also felt guilty for not feeling joyful after the great news. The feelings of impostor syndrome for me mostly derive from the fact that I feel like my English is never good enough when I speak, especially because I have a slight speech impediment, even though Native English speakers have told me multiple times that I speak eloquently and that they frequently learn new words when we hang out/work together. I just hope that I'm able to rise to this new and exciting challenge that requires lots of communication and presentation skills. I found your tips to be very helpful, especially the one about anchoring yourself in God and trusting that they have put me in this position for a reason. Love your personality and your content so much! Will definitely be watching more of your PM videos! Sending you much love from a Panamanian in the Dominican Republic

Hello Bella! And I’m so happy you’ve taken the time to drop a message 🤍 I totally understand where you are coming from. I can honestly say that your written English is eloquent ! But I also understand how you can still feel a bit nervous about navigating the corporate world with an accent/impediment tbh. People can be mean or act like they don’t understand. But all I can say is . Own it babe! Trust God and own it! Because they do understand you, they are just being lazy. The more you show people that ‘this is me’ I’m not going, so the sooner you understand the better for you! You have everything you need within you to great ! Glad you found the tips helpful. Let me know how you progress. You are in that role for a reason and you are more than capable x

@@pitolinmotion Hi Pitol! I truly appreciate your thoughtful and empowering response. It means a lot! I started training about a week ago, and it's actually going quite well. Most of my coworkers are very kind, and a couple of them are from abroad too, which I love! It's been reassuring to see them perform so well when communicating with the clients and teams during meetings with their beautiful accents! Your tips have been helping me dispel the imposter-syndrome thoughts that sometimes creep back into my system, so I wanted to thank you again for sharing those with us. You are an inspiration! Much love and blessings!

What an important topic! You’re honesty is so amazing - especially about the quota part. From what I’ve seen - even if that was the case initially you have totally proven they made the right decision in choosing you. This is something I deal with all the time. I always feel like people think I’m more capable that I truly am and I feel I am always trying to prove them right because the fear of disappointing them is so strong. Which is a never ending cycle because the more successes I have the more they expect! I’m a Christian too and your encouragement to believe in God’s protection and love is so beautiful. Thank you! I recently updated my resume and I found that it was a great source of encouragement…I’m going to keep that handy for those insecure times.

Ira, thank you. When we are young, colored, and women, norms always make us overthink. You have mentioned the method of applause for ourselves, which is very important and useful for me. Because when we empower ourselves, we can become stronger independently. It is so easy to be forgotten.
