I’m in my early 20s and I still feel like some of my emotions are too big for my head to know what to do with. Sometimes it can ruin a whole day, ruins relationships and opportunities in my life. I had very loud, reactive, dismissive and pretty neglectful parents and though they became more conscious of their parenting flaws later on, my most impressionable and vulnerable times were long gone. Long story short, I’m in therapy now, learning to understand what needs I have and had that were never and are not getting met and how they impede on my adulthood. I want children in the next few years. I am so glad I waited long enough before having any to understand that how I was parented is not what I want to pass on to my children and that how you are raised has a huge impact on how you develop and how you live the rest of your life.

How do you do that when the baby don’t understand yet? I have a 1 year old and when she’s throwing a tantrum it feels like I’m talking to the wall. I try to tell her “it’s not ok to hit moms face” “it’s not ok to push your friend” or stuff like that. She’s very impertinent too. But when I try to talk to her it feels like she don’t understand or don’t wanna listen. Idk. She’s very smart. But when it comes to something she can’t do she just don’t wanna listen

How do you handle it when multiple kids are having meltdowns? I have 3 toddlers, twin 3 year old and an almost 2 year old. If I help one the others get jealous and it's a never ending cycle. I feel so lost parenting through meltdowns with 3 kids.

So excited for this content. Been following you on TikTok and I am trying to implement tips in my parent. We live a very nomadic lifestyle and I was brought up in a yelling home I don’t want to parent like that anymore.

What do you do when your kid (I have a 2.5yr old) won’t stop screaming at you and you can’t seem to do anything to get the kid to listen to you.

What happens when you get to the point where your talking to them about what they could have done different and they cannot sit still to listen or think it is funny and keep trying to run away or are screaming to get down?? I’m pretty consistent in trying to talk to my 3 year old once we’ve calmed down but as soon as I start talking about what he’s done and what we could do next time he re-triggers every time and just gets all crazy.

Hey Rach! I really enjoy your content and came over here from tiktok. I know you’re probably still figuring out filming for KZbin but I have 2 comments so far (coming from a person who professionally makes KZbin videos for work): - lower the exposure for the colour grading. It’s so bright and there aren’t enough shadows to help the viewer focus on you. - natural light is best! Or studio box lights instead of the ring light - have a wider angle lens for the camera. For some reason it’s more square and this goes against many of the typical layouts for KZbin - create an animated intro screen instead of using the thumbnail Just a few notes as I want you to do amazing in here! You’re also welcome to take my advice with a pinch of salt.

My daughter is 3, she talks a bit but babbles a lot still. I would also like to know if this will be helpful with children who barely can talk, and what about in the midst of a tantrum for a 3 year old? When i try to talk to her she proceeds the tantrum so its, hard to implement that or the tantrum starts and when I try to talk to her during that time she just starts back up again.

I know your comment is old, but "How to Talk so Little Kids will Listen and Listen so Little Kids will talk" has been so helpful for my family!

What about the older brother in the Lego story? It is hard at my house to deal with both meltdowns at the same time. I even try to get there long before the Legos spill. My older child is equally upset the things got messed up. I'm only one person most of the time.

We have this too at my house. My one granddaughter is 5 the other granddaughter is 3. The 5year old has some terrible meltdowns (suffers from PTSD due to domestic violence and yelling in the home). and will lash out then the 3year old will retaliate. They have had a rough go of it. I have had them for two years now it is especially important that there is no yelling or physical punishment. Let me say the 5year old is in counseling. Thank you for all your wonderful tips this is what I have been looking for is someone to help me help them!!
