Seeing your Dad draped in the flag, made me lose it and start crying. At the same time, my brother-in-law passed also. I was saying to myself, c'mon Steve, Audra needs your comfort, put your arm around her! 32 seconds later, he did. So nice. Sorry for your loss but he's with Jesus and no longer in pain. Take comfort in that. You'll be re-united one day.

Such a beautiful tribute to your dad! I only hope I can honor my dad as beautifully one day. My dad and I were always close. I grew up a pastor’s only daughter, so there was always pressure with that, but I always knew my dad loved me - even when I disappointed him. In 2020, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. He’s been in a nursing home the last several months and he hasn’t known who I am for 2 years. So, in a way, I have already started grieving the loss of him. I will continue to pray for you both, for peace and comfort. Thank you for being so real, even when you didn’t have to be. ‘Blessings. ❤

Audra: We live a mile from the Beach but are high on a Bluff. If you can consider 54 ft above Sea Level high!! We lived with 80 mile per hour winds with gusts to 120 mph for over 6 hours. We were very fortunate to escape with lots of debris from the trees and the loss of some of the screen panels that cover our swimming pool enclosure. My wife`s Sister and my Brother in Law have a second home 1 mile from us. They live directly on the Intra Coastal Waterway. Unfortunately they sustained some major water damage to the interior of the home. They had almost 1 1/2 ft of water inside the house. They elected not to take flood insurance because of the extreme cost for coverage, so everything will come out of pocket. They have been living with us since the Storm. They are Canadian citizens that live outside of Toronto. Thank you for your concern! Hope you are doing well after your Dad started his grand adventure. You made my prayer list!! Rob

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; Psalms 34:18 The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. We were able to watch the video in the parking lot of the church building where my father grew up. Having lost both of my parents over the last 3 years, my heart aches for you both. Ecclesiastes 7:2 Better to go to the house of mourning Than to go to the house of feasting, For that is the end of all men; And the living will take it to heart. Ecclesiastes 7:4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, But the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.
