You know I noticed that Misha used both his voice and castiel’s to say that speech in that episode were he died. Is it just me that hears a difference in voice?

No, no. It was a decision based on emotionality. If he kept his angel voice he wouldn't be able to involve crying and to manipulate voice as much, and he wanted to put as much emotion in it as possible, so he had to switch to his normal voice instead. Hard to tell which would hit more. Less emotion but more Cas than Misha in the scene or what we got. He put his soul in it though, forever grateful for that.
