Dean Guitars Double Header! MDX and Thoroughbred X electric guitar review

So I actually ended up trading a PS5 to my roommate for his MDX with the tunomatic bridge. I love it to death, but good lord my b string goes out every time I set it down. Really drives me crazy 😵‍💫 aside from that, I've never been more in love with a guitar in my 22 years (give or take) of playing. Until you whipped out that sexy matte black Floyd rose version 😭 I want it so damn bad now..

I got a 2019 Thoroughbred (black) in a package deal with a few other guitars and while i never got to try it with its original stock pickups (someone put a Dimarzzio Super Distortion/Air Norton set in it), out of about 20+ different guitars i own, over time ive really vibed with that Dean the most... Shes been my sorta go-to when im grabbing a guitar to play... That took me by surprise, but i think its a fabulous guitar...

I like the les paul style. Made in India? How would that compare to Indonesia or China models?

You know honestly it just depends on the company. Dean has been exceptional with their quality on the electric guitars we get and these look to be fantastic. For electrics we'd say they're of comparable quality to both Indonesia and China. While India isn't super well known for guitars, we've tested quite a few made there and they're quite good. There's no reason to think that they'd be different quality based simply on the country. Definitely make a determination more on the brand rather than country.

These guitars have "DMT Designed High Output Zebra pickups". The DMT stands for Dean Magnetic Technologies. Noting that these are "High Output", players can expect a slightly louder pickup compared to other guitars. High Output humbuckers have a punchy full ranged sound that is best suited for genres like rock and metal. The pickups are versatile and suit a variety of playing styles. Zebra pickups refer to the black and white striped look which is achieved by using one black and one white coil for each humbucker.
