And they are manufactured groups who have no musical, lyrical or thematic input to their songs, and lack of thought provoking content in their music which i find shallow. @@V.J.27 Agree. Many Kpop groups are good, but nowadays there just too many of them that I lost my interest in trying to keep up with any of it. I keep up with my faves (BTS) and the good title tracks of other groups. But, Korean soloists are truly amazing. So many gems like Dean, Sam Kim, Roy Kim, IU, Eddy Kim, and so on.

@@VS-kg4ui same. Only kpop (bts is not kpop- it's a korean group with no genre) group I've been able to stan is bts, although i genuinely apreciate some other groups' hardwork and style. But most have no originality, even though i agree that kpop groups work super hard. Also many Korean soloists and duos are gems. Really talented and deserve attention and appreciation.

there's so many soloist that WAS in a kpop group and the main reason that they left is bc they felt like they aren't there for the music anymore (@ those who became idols for the sake of spreading their OWN music) i rlly think the groups who are still together for how many years are the ones who makes and enjoys their own. that's why there are some groups that are actually great both musically and in stage performance like bigbang, seventeen, bts, ateez, etc. yes, there are a lot of kpop groups that are "manufactured" but i just want to add that there are also groups that is there staying true to themselves

Wow this is my favorite song yet I never checked out the lyrics until this video. Thank you really. I relate to these lyrics 100%. I felt so alone before, I thought I was the only one who thought these things exactly but I was very wrong. I became depressed last year and also fell under an eating disorder 1,5 years ago. I didn’t know or understand why but lately I’ve come to a realisation. This video proved the things as facts and it really is unfortunate isn’t it? Falling in the deep square sea. Guys your channel is great and really you know how to show the good and the ugly in kpop, Korea, the whole world and sometimes life in general. Thank you and also keep up the good work and don’t forget to have breaks or you’ll burn out eventually. Dean is an amazing artist and I have a lot of respect for him from a philosophical aspect.

The song is so darn relatable. I had quit my job few months back as I was not enjoying my work even 1% and eventually had to delete my instagram also bcos I just got depressed seeing others having a dream life while I am stuck with indecisions and problems. Personally I never listened to Dean but I saw this video because I really like the explanations (the whole korean insider thing is super interesting) and well... the lyrics, his voice, the mv left me with a weird (but good) feeling and I think it's because these days most of us feel overwhelmed with all the information that keeps coming through the screen, specially on instagram (I heard it's one of the most used social media these days) and obviously we end up feeling so much anxiety and in the end, rejection towards those apps. I wish I could explain myself better but english isn't my first language and it's a little frustrating haha anyways I guess I'll check out more of Dean's music. I'm really glad you covered this one. I had seen instagram by Dean and explored his music a little further. He's a great artist (I totally dig his song Half-Moon/D). Most groups aren't really known for making deep songs like this (only ones I can think of is Hellevator or Insomnia by Stray Kids). I've however noted a trend that a few soloists have very deep songs (see Black Pearl- Sunmi, Eat- Zion T., and ofc instagram). Is it that wrong for idol /groups/ specifically to express the more dark parts of their psyche that had been planted into them by their companies?
