Deano and Goldie had a good chemistry. Deano never took himself too seriously and, when Goldie started playing wacky, he just went with the flow. Playing with Jerry Lewis for years teaches a guy that. It's pretty easy to tell that Deano was sweetly enchanted with Goldie and she had him wrapped around his little finger.

Dean once said about his time with Jerry that "he never knew what Jerry would do and they didn't think about the audience... the trick was they was always playing off each other. That was the secret to the success. Same thing here. they was playing off each other, the audience loved it.

I am so glad I was born in the mid 60’s, I got to experience the 70’s and 80’s when I was a child and a teenager and I got to relate to and appreciate the time that had just gone before, which was the 50’s and 60’s. My generation and the boomers born in the 1940’s were the luckiest people EVER ! God how I wish we still had human beings like Dean Martin and the young Goldie Hawn today. I feel so sorry for young people in this new century, they have been robbed of all the good things about life.

I think he liked her as a friend and coworker. But I recall, if the movie "The Rat Pack" had any accuracy, while the other guys were out carousing, Dean was home, reading the morning paper and having coffee with his wife. He had a comedic persona to project, but that wasn't necessarily the "real" Dean.

I grew up in the 60s and early 70s, watchy a lot of Dino and Laugh-In. I learn toward Goldie having been VERY very good at portraying a light-headed ditz than imagine she was really so dumb. ! What a comedic talent she had! (And the brass to happily play dumb: George Burns used to comment that Gracie was the brains of their partnership b/c she was smart to play dumb and if it wasn't for Grace no one would have known Burns but as a 2ns-rate hoofer. So, Goldie rocks!)

theothertroll The actor in the gorilla suit might be George Barrows. He played a gorilla numerous times in his career. There is an episode of The "Beverly Hillbillies" where he played that role. He died in 1994.

Dean sounds drunk in this skit.I 'd be drunik to if I was in an elevator with Goldie I would have taken advantage of her and screw up the sketch.Speaking of which, that was good entertainment from back in the day.Today's current entertaininment SUCKS BIG TIME.UNWATCHERBLE.Puts me right to sleep.A real snooze.
