What if Gibson sued someone for making a wind screen for a flute? Fender did. Almost destroyed my friend's mom and pop business. Ironically, people at the company did not even know what Fender was! I used to think guitar companies went against the grain, now they are the grain. The two monsters know people will buy them because of their classic past. 100% agree with you here Barry.

I think it's fair to say that Barry is no longer on good terms with Gibson...😁 I'm a bit conflicted about the legal situation. Ultimately, it's always about market considerations. But of course Barry is absolutely right when he states that Gibson came very late to the idea of ​​claiming the right to produce certain typical guitar models exclusively. The quality of Gibson guitars indeed often leaves a lot to be desired. The quality of the expensive Custom Shop models is often lower than that of the Standard models, which is quite unfortunate. The Standards are often quite good. I bought an SG Standard two years ago, which is really great for its price. And my 96 SG 61 is a dream of a guitar. 👍🏻

I've been around a long time and a lot of really nice guitars, but the best playing and feeling guitar I ever played was a Dean Shenker V. Played it next to an older Gibson standard V and there was no comparison whatsoever. When you see those used, they cost a fortune, but I think there's a reason for that. Just one person's 2 cents. I really like my Gibson guitars too, fwiw.

When I heard about this lawsuit I was so mad that I had to go out of my way and get me a ML and I’m planning on getting even more, so happy for dean guitars and I’m wishing the best for them and I’m gonna keep supporting them, #zerofucksgiven

I have an mij 1979 epiphone genesis, made/designed by the dude that started hamer.. it les Paul's harder than ANY les paul gibson ever made. I tried it side by side with a Murphysboro R9 with REAL 58 pafs... there was a .01% difference. And I paid 400 for it... the R9 dude had over 20k in his. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Oh, and ALL of my 70s (all 30 of them) mij copy guits (ric, gibson, fender) are the exact same quality as the few 60s fenders/gibsons I've owned.

I wishh those dat got ripped off by Gibson with the Cakewalk life time updates, i so wish ppl would have started a class action on they bytch asz. Cuz dat shyt is fvk'd up.
