I picked Joe up in my taxicab in Chicago about 40 yrs. ago and we got stuck in traffic. He entertained me by doing some of his routines like Guy Caballero and Alki the Greek gigolo. When I left him at the Drake Hotel I told him no charge and he insisted I take $40 for a $10 fare God rest his soul! Heaven just became a happier place!

Definitely a happier place. Thanks for sharing this great story. 🥹 So happy when I hear they’re decent people in real life. I’m reliving my childhood watching SCTV again. So much funnier 40 years later. 1/2 the skits unfit to air today! 😂 Such a dream team.

North America's John Cleese, easily pulled of the Mature Adult some sketches needed, with the added dimension that he could also play the everyday guy. “Oooh, scary.” was my favorite line where he was trying to sell how frightening the effects and movie were for the ghost theater skits.
