Ruth Porat is known as “the most powerful woman on Wall Street.” She rose through the ranks at Morgan Stanley all the way to Chief Financial Officer and EVP. Ruth has been a leader through several economic crises, including advising the US Treasury in 2008. In 2015, Ruth joined Alphabet as CFO and Senior Vice President and was just named President and Chief Investment Officer in September, 2023. She now leads Alphabet’s corporate investments and investment vehicles and engages with policymakers and regulators globally.
In a fireside chat format, Ruth will talk about her exceptional career in finance, how she has navigated both personal and professional challenges, the current climate of the tech industry, and advice to students.
