Great interview. I post a lot of Jan & Dean songs on my high school Class of 68 forum. Everyone loves those fun in the sun songs. RIP Jan Berry. Thanks to both of you for the music.

Although Jan died of a seizure at age 62 in 2004, he lived long enough to see a renewal of interest in the music he and Dean made.

Jan & Dean belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They created so much and were a part of the early days of the California surf sound. They made a legendary comeback that included a movie and had hits and countless fans over time. They did more than most of the acts that are already in the hall. Yes, they belong among the greats.

It's called the Rock & Roll Hall of SHAME. Rap & Hip Hop artist should have their own Hall of fame.

I really enjoyed the interview, 5 Stars Eddie and Dean. Myself and 5 of my friends went to see Jan & Dean in Los Angeles, I Can't remember if it was The Whiskey Ago-Go or Moulin Rouge. The year was I believe 1959. Two others on The Show were Della Reese and Jerry Wallace. I just read your Book The Jan And Dean story, I laughed, cried and gave it 5 Stars. I was a fan back in the 50's and 60's and Still one today.

My first 2 45's (summer of '64) - "I Get Around/Don't Worry Baby" (Beach Boys) and "The Little Old Lady From Pasadena." Both were (ARE) landmarks in great pop-rock music of the 60's !

I became a fan of J&D in the early 70s when I found JAN AND DEAN MEET BATMAN and the JAN AND DEAN ANTHOLOGY ALBUM.

Did it not dawn on the interviewer to ask Dean which album cover design Dean won a Grammy Award after Dean mention this achievement Dean did.

Thank you for this video. I love surf music so tell-tale is Brian turning GD into Gosh darn, this genre is so squeaky clean and wholesome compared to today's robot dance and foul mouth rap music.

Notice Dean giving the "Finger" in pic with Dennis . He loves doing that. Sneaking it in LOL.

Jan was a dick (like Mike Love). Dean was the genius in this duol

Not sure Dean would agree with you there--Jan did all the producing and arranging of their records, as well as handling the business end of the music. But both had something to contribute--the humor in their act largely came from Dean, for example. Jan also paid the session musicians and audio engineers extra money under the table, out of his own pocket, in addition to their regular pay, and most of those guys didn't remember him as a dick. Dean and Mike Love always got along really well; so I'm not sure that label really works for Mike either. I think Mike gets a bum rap largely because he wasn't wild about Pet Sounds or Smile.

Se veían mejor allá por los cincuentas cabello corto presentables, se veían mucho mejor por que después se dejaron el cabello largo y se vieron sucios, descuidados daban la apariencia de viciosos.
