I was looking at this one as well.. The bridge SHOULD be a silver Floyd Rose 1000.. this one is black.. must have been swapped for a black special for color reasons only.. Those DEAN custom pups are awesome.. still great bones on that guitar... swap some active pups if you want.. well made out of World Music factory i believe..

@bjstein4242 Good eyes. I believe you are right. When I was doing my research on it, this one was like the only one with a Black Floyd Special. But I think the Chrome would look much better aesthetically than black. And the special bridges are nothing compared to the 1000s. Someone made this guitar less of what it really is. Nice find. I have a USA prototype that I bought from a guy who bought it directly from Dean, Zoltan never picked it up. Mine is heavy as f$$k the neck IMO is a thicker Ibanez the board is really flat. I really like the pickups really hot, your not going to find better ones.

Why buy different guitars if you are going to switch the pickups to active EMGs all the time - won't everything sound similar give or take, based upon scale length and pickup position? I have a Dean V79. The stock DMT Time Capsules pickups measure 14.5 on the multimeter richter scale. They seem pretty versatile from blues to heavy rock. Just on honest question from a late 50's metalhead that took up guitar late in life, because I was constantly involved in sports in my younger years.

@whodareswinslv4265 I believe that I have answered this before. But with all the guitars that I have, and have had over the years. I can honestly say the EMG's make them sound a little similar. But everything else is completely different. They are not the same. They don't feel the same. They don't play the same. What I am doing is making them close to what I want to hear when I play them. I thought higher output meant heavier sounding pickups. But I bought the heaviest that I could find. It was in the 20s on my ohm meter and it had no punchy tightness that I get from the EMG's. It sounded messy and had stupid feedback. What is important in playing is finding the pickups that speak to you and your playing. Sometimes, it can take years. I have found mine, and I hope you can find yours or you found it already. I hope this answers your questions. Take care, brother.
