If I had only one cuisine to choose for the rest of my life it would be Chinese, they have everything in spades. My favorite street food would be dumplings, just can’t get enough, lol. Really beautiful where you were on this part of your trip to Shanghai, almost looked Japanese with some of the buildings. Great job Deana and Phil, thanks for taking us along.🥡🥟🥢💕👍

Öhöhö. Another great pancake video, dude. 🤗 I really like the crunchy one. That crispy sesame dumpling would be called a "donut" in Germany. Möhöhö. I need those fried filled dumplings in my life.

All the dumplings! I am a fan of them, an oscillating fan. Much love to our favorite Über Tuber Tyrant though pleased to witness Deana (of Tipsy Dea on Glühwein fame) largely governing this production, as the location is closer to her metaphorical arena. Phil overusing the OMG-wide-eyes for thumbnail 😆

For eating in the street the sheng jian bao and fried onion pancake looked delicious! If you have time you should try the many Uyghur restaurants in Shanghai. Love their food.

I was in Shanghai with my parents in 2013. On our first morning, we wanted something traditional for breakfast and ended up at a local spot similar to the one you showed with the wooden board menu. They spoke no English and we spoke no Chinese so through a bit of charades we ended up with three enormous bowls of broth with wontons and fried eggs. It was really nice but we could have probably shared one bowl 😂

Ugh, watching videos about Chinese street foods and food in China in general, make me so depressed sometimes lol I haven't been back to China since 2000 sadly, but before that I went 6 or 7 times (it's been a while, I can't remember for sure lol) and while China has changed immensely since the last time I was there, the street food has always been a top tier thing. I'm sure health standards are better now (at least I'd hope so) and I did get quite sick a couple times (and I drank bottled water, so it wasn't the water) but the food is SO good. I'm glad more and more cities here in the US have a more robust street food scene these days, even if it's mostly food trucks. But man, you can get some incredibly good, cheap eats in so many Asian countries, it's not even funny. Great stuff.

You need the cured contest sausage that's a bit sweet and salty. We buy it dried and packaged in the States. Not refrigerated. To cook it, we stick it in the rice cooker on top of the rice we're making. Also reddish in color. So fatty and we slice it up to eat with rice or add it to egg fried rice. I make the scallion pancakes! Lol good enough that my niece requests it. It's a bit of a pain to make but so good! Of all the foods you choose to let Phil try first, Xiao long baos should not have been one of them! 😂 Absolute sacrilege and massacre!

Hi guys, used to watch you regularly when you lived/travelled in Europe and USA. Sorry, but no interest at all in Asia countries for me although I appreciate that very many love it so not watched any videos for several months. Is there any intention for you to return to Germany/Europe anytime soon?

@pandainpearls2 ай бұрын
@janicemiles4638 They are probably just travelling around. But usually people take a break or skip if the content doesn't suit. That's what I do when I see travel content from the US or certain European countries if I'm not interested in the food from that country.
@pandainpearls2 ай бұрын
@@mareiketje4899Why the disappointment? Content creators can't please everyone and you can take a break until the right content comes up. I haven't watched their content for months when they were travelling around Germany and they only popped up for me recently as I was researching for a Japan trip

The automatically generated English language on your video cannot appear in Chinese characters when selecting Auto Translate into Chinese. You may be using the wrong method or software when editing the video. It's a pity that many chinese missed this video because most Chinese people don't understand English. 😅
