Once again, Dean--I absolutely love the tool tear-down marathons. I know it's more difficult to do your work while always considering how to make certain the viewers have a good angle, etc., but we sure do appreciate your efforts. I know I've learned a lot from watching how you proceed with your troubleshooting and repair processes. Cheers!

Fein😲😲🤨 you would never have thought...I'm a fan of Metabo...I have most of my machines from them...good products. No...there is an identical, even stronger model with the so-called VTC-"vario tacho constamatic" electronics...constant electronics...and there this electronics is installed with a regulation wheel on top.....and for that there is a detachable SDS+ head, because the set also includes a classic detachable one quick-clamping head... this is a real multi-drill for drilling concrete, wood, metal, chiseling concrete and also driving screws.

I like those Metabo drills as well, but the resin coating of my armature blew off. Price off a new one was 196 euros! Couldnt justify it for a 18 year or hammer drill.

I found a pair of the Draper professional pliers you use online recently - the last pair in the supplier's stock! I bought them for my electrician friend as a birthday present. He loves them! The moment I saw Dean using them, I could see how good they would be. Excellent video again and I loved that repair to the laser level early on in the video.

No foresight and back sight checks? If you mark the laser at two points then move the laser to another position, at a different level and mark the same two locations the gap between the marks should be the same. If not you know the laser isn’t setting correctly.

I was actually looking at a pair of those Draper wire cutters about a month ago, but they had a pretty hefty price tag and I didn't think that I could justify spending that much on a Sible set of cutters. Mr Doherty do you usually have to be a mind reader to work out what your customers want? It's bad enough when the machine is a mistery - but usually you don't even get a simple note, explaining what they want done with it. Do they expect you to establish a telepathic link with them for instructions?
@deandohertygreaser
@deandohertygreaser 3 ай бұрын
They must do. It's funny when i have expain to someone, that i haven't fixed thier machine yet because I don't know what's wrong with it. And then when they ask why, I have to explain, "because you never told me".

That was a facinating video. I ended up being the guy who had to do tool repairs , as the owner the only guy that really cared I guess. Everytime was an ,adventure as never the,same. Where you get to see same tools all the time. Are these brushless too!s worth the double cost? How are they different? I understand they use less power so,batteries last longer? Cheers Warren usa (where we,don't need 110v transformers!)
@deandohertygreaser
@deandohertygreaser 3 ай бұрын
Yes the brushless tools are the way to go. They generate less heat when running so can take more abuse. Most people have ditched corded tools and are now all cordless. So they get a lot of use and for long periods of time. So brushed motors will quickly overheat and melt. Where brushless motors keep going. Your Power is 110v so no need for the transformers. But ours is 240v so it's stepped down for site work for safety. But it's an outdated system now and there is no real need for it with modern breakers.
