ADT Battery Dead/Missing, How to Replace the Battery!!

After all the calls I have made to ADT this was not the fix they provided. They kept having me go to the device that monitors CO2/ fire alarm up near the ceiling. I'm so over calling in for support this video is so resourceful. I came across your channel and I'm thrilled to have found ?it! My problem has finally been resolved. After a year of calling and complaining to them about the battery draining every month, and recycling those darn expensive (123 Lithium batteries) that wasn't the problem at all... really support didn't reorganize the problem, REALLY! I could go on about my horrible experiences with ADT's support on this particular problem. Long story short I'm grateful to have found this resourceful video. I'm now a subscriber.

Very helpful. I replaced my battery yesterday. A couple notes. When I pulled the cover off. It set off a case tampering alarm. I just had to enter my pin to get it to quiet down, although the tampering alarm was still visible. When I was all done then, I just had to go to advanced options and reboot the system. That cleared the alarm. All fixed.

@@guya9505 I tried rebooting and its still telling me cover tamper but the alarm system is working fine so I guess I won't worry about it. Its in an awkward place so taking the cover off again is a pain. The cover is on tight and its screwed back in so I dont know what's wrong.

Omg, this has been driving me crazy for months. I called ADT about this issue. They said They would have to send out a technician to troubleshoot the issue. Which would cost me over $100.00. I walked my complete house changing out all my sensor batteries. SMH, I knew the battery had to be hidden somewhere in the alarm panel. Thank you so much.

I used to work for ADT and fixed all of these things. This is an internal error and the battery is not being read. The battery itself is totally fine and it's just an issue with one of the pins inside of the Command. ADT will send you. Technician for free regarding this issue and on the backend they zero out the battery cost, maintenance cost, site assessment fee. Sadly need an onsite technician to reset the pin back to factory.

@@melissamissingchriscornell2513 (I work for ADT currently) for the longest time, they would cover a tech to come out because we couldn’t mail the battery. Then we could, and not long after that, we started to waive the charge of the battery because ADT noticed an issue (and never, until recently, told us what the issue was). We now know that the Command was over charging the batteries. So they would fail quicker. As of now, we are still replacing these batteries for free. Eventually, that will change.

Actually ADT IS extremely helpful. If you read your contract like I did you would of known that Batteries is NOT under the QSP warranty and charging to send out a tech was the right way. People need to learn to read what in contracts before signing 🤣🤣

You should call ADT first and have them put the system into test before removing the panel from the wall. Depending on how the touch panel was setup you will trigger a tamper alarm.

Did you place the unit in test mode? Also you have to be careful not to pull or tug any electrical wires. Some reason they just love to pop out!

I work for ADT. If you have this message - call ADT. The battery right now is under warranty, and our information states if you buy a battery from a third party it can cause damage to the system, it won’t be UL Certified and it voids the warranty/QSP on the system. Again. We will mail the battery, it will be at no charge (as of May 2022), and we can help guide you to change the battery itself. Also at the time when this video was posted, it wasn’t clear but we weren’t charging for techs to come out. Our information literally gave you no choice because we had seen panels go completely bad when a customer bought a similar but not the correct battery. So again. Please don’t buy the battery yourself. It’s paying for your system warranty/QSP to be VOID. If an agent says you will be charged for the battery (29.99 plus tax) you can ask for a manager and more than likely the manager will correct the agent and advise them it’s under warranty. Also FYI: I don’t expect that to always be the case, but the battery cost is 29.99 plus tax… so even when the warranty is over with it’s the best option to buy the battery from us to avoid warranty issues in the future.

Also it is best practice when you have that message to unplug the alarm so it will power down. This will avoid tamper alarms and sounds and messages.
