It reminds me a lot of the situation here in Ireland with the Irish language (Gaeilge). Most of the country speaks English yet all the signs are bilingual and the language is taught in schools. I think Celtic languages like Irish and Welsh are beautiful and should be protected. 🇮🇪

I went down a Welsh rabbit hole and found this. I’m an American and it shows me how little I know about the culture of the British Isles - even though virtually all of my ancestors are from there. I was born in the sixties, so Monty Python, Blackadder and Masterpiece Theater were about the only exposure we got over here. I’m hoping that future generations can explore English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish media more easily.

Mat (Deano) is adorable for learning Welsh here. He's actually part of a comedy troupe called ThemThere (or more colloquially the 6 idiots) who are and were inspired by that sort of British humour (Monty Python/Blackadder) who were involved with Horrible Histories (on Hulu) and created the masterpiece that is Ghosts UK (and are exec producers on the US version). Their stuff is definiterly worth seeking out. I'd love (as an english person) to see more Welsh/Scottish/Irish media (my roots are part Welsh/Scottish/Irish)
