Would you ever consider doing a video (A "Dear Tom" reminiscing, or maybe even with Tom?) about how you guys met? I think that would be adorable!
@dlsw2310 жыл бұрын
Oh Gi, who wouldn't love you!? You are that bubbly, sweet, uplifting, smart, talented girl you wanted to be. Seem (like the rest of your family) so down to earth and a truly good person. I think you and Carrie are terrific role models as well. Any one who wouldn't like you would be someone to stay away from anyway. Don't need that kind of negativity! Best to you!

Well the actresses you see on tv and in films were in your shoes once - and somebody probably told them it was a childish dream but they persevered. So don't give up on your dreams! Somebody's got to do it :)

I really loved this video, Gi! That insight on wisdom from your 13 year-old-self really got to me. It's a beautiful reminder that we all weren't as stupid/naive as we thought we were back then. And of course, your cheerful bubbly self now definitely made the video all the more fun to watch! Till the next time you're on my subscription box! :D xx

Ooooh I play sax. I would have just started at 13 I think. I played flute for ages before that. It's so easy on the flute to fake play when you're confused because there is normally an army of them. I play tenor sax in a concert band now and I often attempt to fake play but often it will just be me and I don't realise

Giovanna that last part made me so happy because when i was 11 i tried playing viola in school and i didn't know at the time that due to my incredibly poor dexterity, i was never going to actually be able to play properly so at the few concerts we did i also pretended to be playing and i am so glad i was not alone in that haha :)

Gi, I did that with my saxophone most of high school. I was a terrible player and then I got my braces on at 16 (very late, I know) and that was just a pain playing with braces, haha. I remember when a band member would first get braces there'd be a ton of random squeaking for the ones who played instruments with reeds until they got used to playing with metal in their mouth. But I will say, that I did play some parts, just not all parts and ended up just sitting there wondering where we were, and the real reason I was in band was because all of my friends were and it was a family atmosphere. Well, this is long winded. Love you and can't wait for coffee with Gi!

i wish i could have pretended! but i played the violin so it would have been slightly difficult. i just ended up looking really lost and the conductor would secretly give me really easy pieces so that i wouldn't get so lost. no wonder i stopped!! great video by the way, i would love to hear more of your autobiography at some point xx

I loved this video! It is fascinating to look back on things completed earlier in your life and remember the person you were in those days...like you said, everything is relevant at the moment you experience it! That is something with which I currently struggle; I know that I will one day look upon high school with a vague fondness but much of it will not directly affect my future life, but right now everything is portrayed in perpetual relevance. It's quite an experience and I wish I were documenting more of it! And I can certainly relate on the band thing. I play the clarinet in my school's wind ensemble now, and I have learned to take it more seriously, but I remember the early days of faking the difficult parts! I'm glad I stuck with it though, as I would like to major in clarinet in college. I wish you, Tom, Carrie, and Buzz the best!

I used to pretend to play in the school orchestra! I play the cello but it took me about 3 years to actually learn how to read music, so I had to spend all that time just wiggling my fingers and playing open strings! It was a junior school orchestra, so the whole thing sounded awful anyway and no one ever knew apart from the other guy who played the cello and kept giving me funny looks! :')

I love how you pursued your dreams, I feel like I got lost in the way and my 13 year old self wouldn't be that proud of me.. She wanted me to became an author but (since I didn't had a teacher saying I was good at it) I over criticize myself and give up after 3 pages. Maybe there's still time for me? haha that reminds me of me in year 6, i was probably about 10 or 11 and most public schools in New South Wales offered this orchestra program where students played all different types of recorders, (like bass, tenor and the standard) and would perform at the Sydney Opera House as part of a massive orchestra with professional musicians playing all sorts of instruments. I spent months and months practising our little songs and they actually sounded really good! (recorders arent as annoying as everyone thinks if played right!) and the night came, there were thousands of people going into the Opera house. My family were there, and my friends were performing with me, I was so excited, and then when the performance started I got so nervous I would sound horrible I just pretended throughout the whole thing! I noticed the people around me doing the same thing. Now that I reflect on it though I cant help but think what else should i have expected, I was 10! haha but at least I get to tell the story of "performing" at the Sydney Opera House although ask me to play now and I wouldnt have a clue....

I have to ask, what are the books behind you on the shelf that have the ribbon tied round? I don't know why but every time I see them I am curious. :)
